Re: Shortcomings in the DeVilbiss IntelliPAP??

I have had problems with the IntelliPAP myself. I, like timbalionguy am an overweight individual, although I have a few pounds on him. I purchased mine last summer after I started experiencing problems with my Respironics Remstar Plus. Since it had been five years since my initial sleep study, my do...

Re: I have decided to buy a new IntelliPap machine

The webinars look impressive - but the company ignored a number of requests to give info about their decision to define an apnea as central only if the flow drops to 95% or less (according to the webinar -- that "works for about 85% of the people"). O. Couldn't you change those numbers if you wante...

Re: I may have become a science experiment

The true good news is that when you get something this funky and rare that actually gets properly diagnosed (versus them grabbing at straws misdiagnosing the underlying cause), you are going to get more attention than you'd believe doctors could ever give. OSA is actually fairly boring and routine ...

Re: I may have become a science experiment

techno-snoreus Yes that is interesting and unusual. Almost like a trigger in your brain switches modes. Sleep = RR of 24, wake = RR of 12. That waking of RR = 12, do you vary this if walking faster than normal ?. It seems a slow rate unless you don't move around much. Good luck & enjoy the fun DSM ...

I may have become a science experiment

for my neurologist / sleep doctor. Had a re-titration study on July 10, and this came back on my report. " Sleep related tachypnea was demonstrated by consistent increase from wake related 12 breaths per minute to sleep related 24 breaths per minute, with abrupt onset " Apparently this condition is ...

Re: Talk to me about APAPs

I'm really happy with my M-Series Auto, although I use it mostly in CPAP mode. I get better numbers in CPAP. (I plan to run APAP a few nights every 6 months or so to monitor pressure needs.) And I'm happy with the data Respironics machines deliver. I have the A-flex model, though running in CPAP li...

Re: Talk to me about APAPs

I have the M Series with A Flex. It is great. From an older thread http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?p=307168#p307168 , these are the APAPs: AUTOPAP ("autotitrating cpap" or "APAP") machines which record full data: Respironics REMstar Auto M series with A-Flex. ResMed S8 Autoset Vantage and Aut...

Talk to me about APAPs

Just had a re-titration study done after 4 and a half years on the hose. Will be getting script for new machine, and want an APAP. Insurance will cover 100%, so I want to get a really good one with data capabilities, the works. I really appreciate all responses, seeing as how I'm too lazy to go and ...

True, but I do not have the 12v plug. All I have is the 110 plug.

Techno's hurricane survival tips

As many of you may know, I live in the Houston, TX area. Hurricane IKE beat my little city like a pimp and I have since learned many things and would like to pass on some of my knowledge to my fellow pappers. 1. You can run a Puritan and Bennett Goodknight 420 off a car battery with a DC/AC converte...
