Re: New to ACPAP/UARS
Wow, finally I think I found a doctor that seems to know something about sleep I went in well prepared but didn't really need to convince him about taking my sleep problems seriously He didn't try to convince me that it was all in my head or try to sell me quack therapies When he mentioned that BiLe...

Re: New to ACPAP/UARS
I am going to see an ENT/sleep specialist tomorrow
How can present my case?
What should I ask in regards to my concerns about UARS?

Re: New to ACPAP/UARS
What do you think about this study
Is it not saying that essentially almost all insomnia is caused by breathing problems?

Re: New to ACPAP/UARS
I have been trying to figure out why I am reluctant to get back to CPAP and it hit me when reading this previous post . That was the time I felt the worse and had suicidal ideation. Since stopping CPAP I feel marginally better. Difficult to say for sure if it was the effect of the CPAP but I am terr...

Re: New to ACPAP/UARS
I did it at the end of October after complaining of excessive fatigue to my GP
Not sure how to describe the test accurately but it was all ok appart for low magnesium and high cholesterol
Better to ask you if you think there's anything in particular I should have tested

Re: New to ACPAP/UARS
Hi Miss Emerita, I assume you're referring to this. If you talk with your doctor about other possible causes of your fatigue, be sure to mention that it started in Sept of 2022. Try hard to think if anything else potentially relevant happened at around the same time, ranging from getting a cold to s...

Re: New to ACPAP/UARS
Merci robysue1 :D You have a very long latency to sleep---as in 172.5 minutes, or almost 3 hours. Actually it was a home sleep study. I don't explain the long latency as I remember not having major problem falling asleep that night Also notable is the fact that you have one very long WASO episode fr...

Re: New to ACPAP/UARS
Wow, thanks a lot for the in depth reply. Really appreciate giving me the tips for understanding my Oscar data better. I didn't post the PSG initially because it's in French, but maybe the graphs are standard enough for you to make sense of it. Or maybe you do speak French :) https://imgur.com/a/lNe...

Re: New to ACPAP/UARS
Thanks for your reply Miss Emerita In an earlier post I mentioned a number of tests you might ask your doctor to run to determine whether something other than a sleep-breathing I did see it but I saw nothing that rang a bell, 5 months ago when it all started I was doing fine health wise I spot-check...

Re: New to ACPAP/UARS
That's very helpful :D My mind is racing, I am tired but wired and I am trying to figure out many things at once. Basically I cannot for the life of me understand why I feel so exhausted every day That's why I convinced myself that I have UARS based on the list of symptoms one finds all over the net...

Re: New to ACPAP/UARS
As I understand Resmed APAP doesn't flag RERA in any meaningful sense. But looking at the flow chart in Oscar can we determine what is meaningful flow limitation? In the link the 1st image shows what I assume to be normal and regular breathing in the 2d I think it's an exemple of flow limitation, ri...

UARS Bipap/ASV consensus
Where does the consensus on the efficacy of Bipap and/or ASV for UARS come from?
Is based on people's experience on this forum and other forums or is based on clinical studies? Or something else I missed?

Re: zero AHI on 4cm
Here is a link to my PSG, it's in french but maybe being a standard thing you might make sense of it. https://pdfhost.io/v/dB.~uDLXy_Sanfilippo_Sbastien_polysomno_delta_1201231 I just translated the following: Total awakenings : 11 Changes of stages: 37 Sleep efficiency: 49.9% Neurological events Nu...
