Re: Curious...How many of you are running APAP vs. Constant Pressure?

Cannot use APAP…woke me up several times a night in brief spurts. Once I fine turned my fixed pressure, it made all the difference. My OSA is mild and my pressure is 9.2. It has been perfect the last two years. What was the deal breaker for you? Interesting to hear different perspectives. The varia...

Re: OT... YouTube 'Medicare School'

With advantage plans look closely at what you Part A out-of-pocket is. My husband has an advantage plan with the maximum out-of-pocket of $8K…Plan G is zero for Part A and Part B is the annual deductible $230 or so.

Re: Question about possible mold / bacterial contamination

I have been using CleanSmart. I referred to it by a fellow CPAP user who experienced exactly the same problem as the OP. He is an engineer who did extensive research on this since the funk kept coming back and CleanSmart fixed the problem completely. I have the original water chamber in my 18 month ...

Re: OT...More than 75,000 health care workers begin strike at Kaiser Permanente

Chunkyfrog…have you and your bullfrog looked in a Plan G? I have a birthday coming up and spoke with my new Medicare insurance agent yesterday. My Plan F is $245/mo. And the new Plan G is $172. The only difference when I was researching is I have to come up with the Part B deductible which is no pro...

Re: OT... YouTube 'Medicare School'

I’ve watched his videos and learned a lot. So much so I am in the middle of making a major change in my Medicare supplemental plan. My neighbor referred me to their Medicare insurance people and boy oh boy what a GREAT experience. Will be saving $872/year going from a Plan F to a Plan G. The Plan G ...

Re: OT: Heads up on my personal issues

So sorry you are dealing with this and I feel your pain. My 88-year-old mother has been in an assisted living facility since January 2020 and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in mid-July. The facility she lives in has a memory care building and we will be moving her there in the coming months or bring...

Re: INSPIRE FOR SLEEP APNEA

There was a ton of marketing in my area. Anything medical that is mass marketed gives me pause. I read reviews on other forums and would never, ever have this device implanted in my body and have small jolts to my tongue region when having an apnea event. Just ewwww!! That is just too creepy for thi...

Re: Cleaning Dreamwear

I used a DreamWear under nose cushion and only clean the cushion every day with an unscented baby wipe. I use to be stickler about weekly washing of everything and stopped about 15 months ago with no ill effects whatsoever. I will wash the water chamber every couple of months and change the air filt...

Re: CPAP during COVID infection

Having recently recovered from covid and rebound covid, I used my machine every night. I have been fully vaccinated so it wasn’t as bad. I have very low AHI and saw it nudged up a bit during the few bad days and was thankful I was using the machine.

Re: AirFit F20 hurts

Both the AirFit F20 and AirTouch F20 almost caused me to give up on CPAP. The discomfort was over-the-top but going out in public looking like I lost a fist fight was more than I could take. Thankfully, I discovered lots of great online resources and was able to go with a nasal cushion and mouth tap...

Re: More To Feeling Well Than Low AHI and No Leaks

In addition to what others have mentioned, diet and exercise definitely play a part as well. Sadly, many people believe CPAP will fix all their issues when for some of us it is truly a multi-level approach to wellness. Wishing you the best for getting this solved.
