Re: AIRVIEW communications
Then why isn't [MyAir] avaialble immediately after a session? It's not. Why is it that when ResMed's servers are unavailable, MyAir will not show any of that data? If it was transferred via Bloothtooth, it would be available. Things may work differently in Canada, but on my phone the MyAir data is ...

Re: AFIB and Sleep Apnea - linkage?
My husband had double ablation, up one leg for atrial fibrillation and up the other leg for atrial flutter. One side had to be burned, the other frozen. His surgery was successful and solved both problems. Hi, can you elaborate on that? We’re both ablations done at the same time and the catheters w...

Re: AFIB and Sleep Apnea - linkage?
Sometimes it is possible to correct "faulty wiring". Wish your brother well, In the ablation technique the surgeon kills (by intense heat or intense freezing) heart tissue so that the electrical signals can't pass into the atria from the veins. The biggest drawback so far is that the surgeon cannot...

Re: AFIB and Sleep Apnea - linkage?
@ Dataq, Thanks for that explanation, it mirrors what my doctors have told me, but you added a bit more detail. I went to my cardiologist, who referred me to an electro-doc. One of the first things my electro-doc did was to order a sleep study and it showed that I had mild apnea. I'd never been test...

AFIB and Sleep Apnea - linkage?
The electrophysiologist and the sleep doctor agree that Sleep Apnea causes, or at least exacerbates Atrial Fibrillation. Do many of you have AFIB?

Re: 4 months in, horrible OA after changing from nasal to full face. Please help.
There's no "theory", the *fact* is that 20cmH₂O is not enough pressure to Inflate a balloon. "expand" has a different meaning. Semantics aside, the question is: Does cpap pressures exert sufficient force to push the lower mandible forward. In the alternative, are the pressures employed by cpap mach...

Re: 4 months in, horrible OA after changing from nasal to full face. Please help.
Yeah, sounds logical, but that seems to contradict the popular theory that the Pap can't expand a toy balloon at max pressure, so it would seem dubious that the Cpap pressure is sufficient to push the jaw forward. Well then, I guess CPAP doesn't do anything at all then, eh? Not even close… what I q...

I can still operate my jaw with my “lips sealed”. I do it all the time when eating.

Re: 4 months in, horrible OA after changing from nasal to full face. Please help.
Simple, if your airway is inflated, it can (depending on your individual anatomy) push your jaw forward as it expands. Yeah, sounds logical, but that seems to contradict the popular theory that the Pap can't expand a toy balloon at max pressure, so it would seem dubious that the Cpap pressure is su...

Re: 4 months in, horrible OA after changing from nasal to full face. Please help.
When using a nasal or pillow mask, the pressure can push your jaw a little forward which opens up your airway more. a FFM keeps the jaw pressed backwards, narrowing the airway. Not sure why the nasal would push the jaw forward, but a tight FFM could surely press the jaw towards the spine, unnecessa...

Re: 4 months in, horrible OA after changing from nasal to full face. Please help.
Nasal masks, especially nasal pillows, contact the face over a much smaller area than full face masks, meaning consistently better fit/fewer leaks for most patients. Is there study evidence of of this (nasal=better fit, fewer leaks)? Bad leaks mean you may not be getting enough air to prevent as ma...
