Re: Does Anyone Hate their CPAP?
As someone who's had an oral device for several months, I can tell those of you getting them that they're super uncomfortable at first. You may only be able to wear it for short intervals to start. The plastic knobs feel like it's going to tear the inside of your mouth up. However, just like braces ...

Re: Does Anyone Hate their CPAP?
I am on my second night with CPAP. I have worn it for 6 hours each night. I have slept for only one hour each night. I have taken Benadryl. I cannot sleep, at all. I just lie there feeling like I’m suffocating. I have never had insomnia before. I think it’s a sensory issue with both the mask and th...

Re: Cats, menopause and CPAP
Saw my doctor today. He agreed that based on my results with the MAD and a change of asthma medication, I don't need to continue trying to use CPAP. My nighttime gasping was uncontrolled asthma - it still occurred while papping. Also, with my neck issues, torturing me with the headgear and uncomfort...

Re: Does Anyone Hate their CPAP?
I still hate mine. Didn't think this through very well. Planning to ditch it so the insurance co will stop charging me. Why did I think that strapping a plastic mask over my face full of warm air would be a good idea? I'm already dealing with feeling hot all the time and of course this makes it wors...

I do the same thing. Wake up with it near my hand or on my stomach.

Re: Baby soap vs baby wipes vs other soaps for cleaning CPAP equipment
You don't need very much soap to get suds. I wash everything - including the hose - in warm water and a very small amount of Dawn soap. There's no smell. It's fine. I can only imagine what is going to grow inside the warm, moist environment of the hose if it's not washed. It's got all those nice, da...

Re: WIFI, or remote communication risk potenial.
I agree with Lazarus and the OP. There is something intimate about having a medical machine in your bedroom. Personally, I struggle with the data from cell phones, too. I don't have Alexa, but I do use an Amazon Fire Stick which has Alexa built-in. Even if I'm not actively using that software, it mi...

Re: ResMed F30 headgear FIX, YAY!
I discovered this thread and eagerly ordered a set of the Amara headgear. It looks like in the intervening years the Philips magnet snaps have changed, and it doesn't look like the old blue Resmed versions detach easily. Hope springs eternal. Sometimes the springs dry up. :) 5F5BFA40-C47A-45C9-AC5F...

Re: Cats, menopause and CPAP
I am sorry you are having so many struggles with your papping (and the rest of it, which is always worse when you haven’t slept. I hope that the new mask helps and hopefully the asthma doesn’t react to the paint and carpet glue. ugh. Thank you. Yes, fingers crossed. I ordered the Amara View headgea...

What kind of pillow are you using?
I wonder if different pillow shapes or firmness affect how comfortable your mask is?
I'm using a contoured cervical pillow recommended by my ortho, and it's pretty firm.

That's really helpful. Thank you.bobsk8 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 10, 2022 8:52 pmI am a newbie at this, but I have been watching a number of youtube videos until I get my Cpap machine. I watched this one tonight on leaky masks, and it made sense to me. Maybe it can be of some help.

Re: Cats, menopause and CPAP
I'm so exhausted I couldn't function this weekend. I had a three day weekend for the holiday and really needed to clean out my bedroom prepatory for new carpet and painting, so mom can move in. I was almost completely worthless. Zero energy. So, last night I dug out my MAD and had a decent night's s...
