Re: Oral device/mouthpiece and jaw ache
My dentist said that when he did oral appliances, he gave his patients a set of exercises to do every morning when they removed the device because it puts your jaw in a different position than it normally is. He said a lot of people are uncomfortable in them. They are good for mild OSA, but he does...

Oral device/mouthpiece and jaw ache
Hi, I am considering trying an oral device/mouthpiece for hypopnea but I had slight jaw problems in the past from another issue.
Which would more likely cause jaw ache, a full-face CPAP mask or one of these oral devices?
If any of you have personal experiences of this, that would be helpful too.

Re: Adapter for overseas travel
... they are sending me their pamphlet about using the CPAP when traveling. If it's this one it's not real helpful: https://media.resmed.com/sites/3/20191120190538/sleep-apnea-traveling-with-cpap-tip-sheet.pdf Yes and it is misleading as well because it says “power adapter” whereas this other Resme...

Re: Adapter for overseas travel
Are you saying the voltage is not an issue? Can I use my current detachable cable? In Japan it will be easier to get a plug adapter than find a cable with a Thai plug attached to it Well, according to the internet , you don't need *anything*, so just quit spazzing out. https://www.asherfergusson.co...

Re: Adapter for overseas travel
Judging by the label shown in the photo, and also the label on the bottom of the device, it can handle 100 to 240v, correct? Correct. Works anywhere on the planet. https://ap.resmed.com/knowledge/will-my-machine-work-in-other-countries Does that also apply to the detachable cable that plugs into th...

Re: Adapter for overseas travel
He adjusted his previous advice and said I don't need to buy a transformer but need to replace the detachable cable Well, that's correct advice, if for the wrong reason. The most *effective* thing to do is get the proper short cord(s) for whatever country(ies) you're going to visit, and leave your ...

Adapter for overseas travel
Hi, I live in Japan and have the Japanese equivalent of ResMed AirSense 10 (called ResMed SleepMate10 when supplied by Teijin over here) which has this adapter/cable. Judging by the label shown in the photo, and also the label on the bottom of the device, it can handle 100 to 240v, correct? https://...

Thanks. Interesting - there is even a term for unreliable readings like that.

Re: Sudden spike in clear airway / central apnea events after break from CPAP
Yes, unfortunately, I was unable to get to sleep properly because of anxiety.
I think that transitioning from wakefulness to sleep was what caused the strange reading.
It just freaked me out when I saw the high CA score. I wonder if others have had that experience.

Sudden spike in clear airway / central apnea events after break from CPAP
Hi I have been using CPAP on an off for very limited periods as I am still trying to get used to the machine, and decide between a full-face or nasal mask. After about a month of not using CPAP (and using CPAP only once for 45 minutes in the month before that), I tried for 30 minutes in the afternoo...

Re: Anyone here switched from nasal to full-mask?
I am a 6 week old Newbee but I will try to share my experience. I use a FFM F20 airtouch with a foam cushion. I love it. The seal is perfect, and even better when I sink into the pillow on my side or on my stomach ! Two problems though: I have a tendency to drool (after a few hours) and it makes th...

Re: Baby soap vs baby wipes vs other soaps for cleaning CPAP equipment
OK, thanks. So you clean once weekly. Some do daily, but that might be excessive. I'd wipe the cushion with alcohol every day to remove facial oils. I'd wash the mask and cushion weekly, more often if I actually *SEE* anything in it... (sneezed in it, etc). Each to his/her own I guess. Sounds rathe...

Re: Baby soap vs baby wipes vs other soaps for cleaning CPAP equipment
So ResMed says don't use dishwashing detergents "as they may damage the mask or leave harmful residue." What do you use? I used Dawn back when I could find the unscented. these days, I use Kirkland, but have to rinse it more thoroughly to get rid of the scent. I used Dawn on a Resmed Mirage Quattro...
