Re: Confusing Data on the Airsense AutoSet

One other thought to consider....the pressure of a full face mask on the nasal turbinates adding to nasal congestion. I have this myself which is why I long ago decided to avoid full face masks (aside from the fact I just didn't want one). Any sort of pressure on the nasal turbinate area pretty muc...

Re: Confusing Data on the Airsense AutoSet

I was thinking of these machine settings for the coming week: Max: 20 Min: 4 Fulltime EPR: 3 Humidifier and temperature control: Auto What else can I do to deal with the flow limitations? I think those settings will be useless for the most part in reducing FLs.....assuming that the FLs are for sure...

Re: Confusing Data on the Airsense AutoSet

The flow limitations are likely driving the pressures upwards. Are you experiencing any increased nasal congestion with the addition of humidifier? Change in primary sleep position maybe? Actually yes, I had nasal congestion(mild infection) for 4-5days ie, 20th to 24th. All symptoms had subsided on...

Re: Confusing Data on the Airsense AutoSet

It's very hard to determine any sort of trend when you change your settings every single night. Pick a setting which you found efficacious and comfortable and stick to that for a few nights at least. Then change one variable only and try that for a few nights. The images you've shown don't include ...

Confusing Data on the Airsense AutoSet

https://imgur.com/a/k9xIUmV I've posted my OSCAR Data above. Initially I was getting an amazing response to treatment, But it seem like I'm needing higher pressures when I started using humidifier. I do not know if it's even related but for sure my pressure requirements have increased since I've use...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset vs Aircurve 10 VAuto

But the Aircurve 10 VAuto cannot be run with EPR disabled, can it? That's how I'm using my Airsense currently, Pressure from 4-20; EPR disabled. The Aircuve 10 VAuto does not have EPR EPR is a limited, reverse PS. Where EPR is a pressure drop , PS is a pressure rise. The VAuto has PS that can be se...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset vs Aircurve 10 VAuto

Unfortunately what I don't have is a crystal ball to see what pressures someone may or may not need in the future. I lost some weight a few years back and actually found that I needed a bit less pressure overall....but I also have read about people losing weight and ending up needing more pressure....

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset vs Aircurve 10 VAuto

I agree with everything Pugsy said. I originally had an AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her and moved to a VAuto. I moved because I found a sweet deal on a used one. The only feature I took advantage of was PS of 4 instead of the AirSense's EPR of 3. Having said that, there are a few features that the AirS...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset vs Aircurve 10 VAuto

Bottom line, as PR, DS, and Pugsy have explained, is that if you don't need pressures over 20 and don't want EPR/pressure support over 3, there's no particular reason to get a VAuto. One additional thought after reading the thread: you might try EPR of 1 to see whether it feels as "wrong" to you as...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset vs Aircurve 10 VAuto

I don't see an urgent need to go with the bilevel at this time. You don't seem to need pressures over 20 cm...it does climb to where it might kiss that upper 20 cm limit but not for very long and you don't see the pressure maxing out and having a lot of apnea events happen because the machine neede...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset vs Aircurve 10 VAuto

Pugsy isn't a man, I've seen her photo. My bad. Apologized :) Not necessarily, if they were inherently better for everyone then they would probably be prescribed for everyone, but they're not, they're no better for many people than the airsense 10 autoset is. If the EPR was off, then a VAuto is no ...

Hello I have wanted to find out if Aircurve 10 VAuto have all the features of the Airsense 10 Autoset. I know VAuto is a BiPAP device No, it's a "bilevel" device, BiPAP™ is a trademark of philips respironics, and only they make BiPAP™ devices. , but it also has a CPAP option, right? Is it just a ru...

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset vs Aircurve 10 VAuto

I'm curious about one more thing, do you get an improved AHI when you use the Aircurve when compared to the Airsense. I'd really appreciate if you have it with you and can share the comparison for various pressure support, or whatever's possible. No...there was never any real change in AHI between ...

Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset vs Aircurve 10 VAuto

Hello I have wanted to find out if Aircurve 10 VAuto have all the features of the Airsense 10 Autoset. I know VAuto is a BiPAP device, but it also has a CPAP option, right? Is it just a rudimentary CPAP or an APAP like the Airsense? I have an option to return my Airsense in the coming week, so if Ai...
