Re: NO CPAP machines available at all!

Horray! Yesterday I received a call from a DME wanting to schedule me to pickup my ResMed AirSense 11 Autoset CPAP machine. I am going to pick it up Monday, March 14. A very nice lady indicated my insurance would cover everything, which is nice to know. Also, she annotated that I wanted a full face ...

I would call. https://verushealthcare.com/contact/
Do they accept and file insurance, and do they carry Med Res units? I can't find the answer on their site. Thanks.

[/quote]Sounds like your doc has a "arrangement" with the dme he sent you too. Go to your primary get a prescription and order it online. To hell with that sleep doc. Re: My doctor has sent my prescription to multiple DME's

I have a copy of the sleep study, but not the prescription. It calls for Auto-CPAP and mask of patient's choice. I am using Medicare and Blue Cross and so far all accept Medicare and are on Blue Cross network list. One DME already told me the are furnishing a Res Med Air Sense 11. That is what I wil...

My doctor has sent my prescription to multiple DME's

As the title indicates, my doctor has sent out my prescription out to more than one DME. While this appears to be a good thing insofar as finding a Cpap Unit faster, it presents a problem. How do I chose a DME if the first one to come up with a unit gets bad reviews on the Internet? And others have ...

Appreciate all the info provided. Sounds like if I watch things closely, I should be ok, reimbursement-wise.

Re: Insurance Companies

Thanks, Janknitz for the reply. And for your informational urls. I have Medicare with Blue Cross Federal Employees supplemental insurance, and My DME is run by a local hospital - Integris Medical Center - so I should be in fairly good shape. But, I appreciate your warnings about what can happen.

Insurance Companies

Please help me understand what the term "insurance company" appearing in many posts refers to? Do you have to take out insurance when you purchase a Cpap? Or is it in reference to Medicare/Health Insurance coverage. I haven't found an answer for this by reading posts, googling, or FAQ's. Help!

For those of us who are new to this forum, I found a video tutorial (basic) on OSCAR and using the SD card. This is very helpful to me -hope it helps someone else.

Re: New to using Cpap (a bit lost...)

[snip] I would appreciate any and all help you can provide! 😊 Leonie A bit late to the thread, but will offer some advice. What I will add is from my own experience, so YMMV. The CPAP experience is new to everyone and it takes time to adjust. Think about it, you are first told you have a sleep prob...

Re: Why is it necessary to have a support team?

I think this forum is great as part of my support team. I left my Sleep Study not knowing my next step and not being smart enough to ask pertinent questions. I called my GP who referred me back to my Sleep Study physician and had it not been for this forum, I would still be going around in circles. ...

I think I'm ok - Dr.'s Sleep Report and prescription call for Auto-CPAP.

Which one? you DO NOT want a CPAP, and probably not an Elite. There are three different "Airsense 11" machines.

Sorry but I don't understand -"you DO NOT want a CPAP"?
