Wow I just noticed on the streaming news above that Resperonics made $24 million off of us all over the last quarter. Congratulations are in order. Now on to more important news for us patients! Can you imagine the web Site for cancer patients has streaming news that says "New Cancer Drug Brings In Heavy Profits...Execs Elated."
Who's Profiting, Them or Us?:)
Who's Profiting, Them or Us?:)
If I had known I would have lived this long, I would have taken better care of myself.

Too bad it's not more. Obviously, they need to go after the mass market. I imagine the TV ads already - designed to sell an xPAP machine to every household. . . soon the FDA will rule that no prescription is required. . .DCTom wrote:. . .Resperonics made $24 million off of us all over the last quarter.

Let's see: Cigarettes, Beer, Whiskey, Drugs, no prescription needed
XPAP, (A Smart Vacuum cleaner, turned around) Non-Drug, prescription needed.
Talk about FDA not having a clue, they should be in charge of medical treatment, Oh My, I think they are. Welcome to the "Land of Liberty".
It's a good thing Resperonics made $24 million of us, if there had been 1/2 as many of us, we would have paid twice as much and they would have made the same.
Go out in the world and recruit more XPAPers, so we can get a lower price.

Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!

Absolutely. Read the financial news from Pfizer, J&J, Elan, etc. May not be those exact words but same meaning. Can you imagine the web Site for cancer patients has streaming news that says "New Cancer Drug Brings In Heavy Profits...Execs Elated."
Stockholders are also elated.
As tough as this might be for you to swallow, Respironics is in the business of returning value to shareholders. They HAPPEN to do so by designing and making XPAPs. The fact that you (we) must suffer from OSA for them to meet their financial objectives is of no consequence.
This is capitalism folks. Nothing wrong with that (IMHO).
Respironics
Those of us who use one of their units and appreciate the benefit of the technology likely believe it's money well spent!....I sure do!
Also note that the company is into other markets as well.
Anybody want to guess how many lives have been prolonged due to this technology?
And just before I get off my soapbox, another thank you to CPAP.COM for making these gadgets available at a reasonable price!
