Nationwide Medical

I am beyond frustrated with this company. They provided my CPAP machine (sent it to my sleep study group) after assuring me in writing that they were in network with my insurance company. That was in August, 2012. Turns out they were not in network, have not sent me supplies for over a year, and continue to try to bill me for rental. On May 19, 2013 my insurance company rejected their claim for rental saying the rental amount has exceeded what would have been paid to purchase. I have received monthly bills since then, never paid them, and get calls that they will get a collection agency to get the $13.02 they claim I owe. That's correct- even though I have received monthly bills for this amount apparently they don't accumulate. I paid it once, got another bill. For at least 6 months I have tried to get rid of this company. I do not have a contract with them. I have emailed, snail mailed, faxed, phoned and sent back bills marked CANCEL. NO REPONSE. I wrote their compliance officer, no replly. Any ideas how to get rid of them? I will send them back the CPAP machine if that will help, just want to never hear from them again!!

I should add that the sleep study provider has gone out of business. No help there.

Can you get a lawyer to send them a note inexpensively? That will often make nuisances go away without having to do any more.

Ask your insurance company to intervene. In network or not, they can't continue to bill you past the insurer's rental cap.

Update: I emailed the compliance office at Nationwide Medical, my insurance company, and Business Consumer Alliance. Only BCA responded and stated that they will mediate a resolution to the problem. They will contact Nationwide and try to resolve it. Will update you when (if) it happens.
