Re: Airsense 10 Autopap vs. Dreamstation Autopap
I also keep reading that only the Airsense Autoset for Her registers RERA, but I can report that my regular Airsense Autoset does in fact track RERA. I don't know if this is something they have updated, or if it is something that has been misrepresented. I have been extremely happy with my Airsense....

Re: MyAir Scores
I agree with everyone else. The Myair score is crap. If you take naps during the day, and use your CPAP, as you should, it will ruin your score. That is ridiculous. They should reward you for that, not penalize you for it. The same with penalizing you for getting up for a potty breaking and putting ...

Re: Returning to the fold
I am finding that this P10 has two settings, so tight it makes my nose hurt, and so loose it leaks. It likes to randomly switch between the two in the middle of the night. I will get it adjusted nicely as I get into bed, and a couple hours later it will wake me up because the straps have moved cinch...

Returning to the fold
Hello all. I was using CPAP for a while some time ago, but at the time my AHI was only 9, and ultimately the CPAP ended up making my sleep worse. Fast forward a couple years, and another sleep study, at my request, and no my AHI was up to 23. I am retiring from the Navy in 3 days, and got my new Air...

Re: I think my machine is Defective, provider does not.
Palerider is almost correct in how to enter the clinicians menu. Turn the knob to "setup". The press and hold the knob and ramp button simultaneously for at least 5 seconds. Then go back to the setup menu again, and you will be in the clinicians menu. *puzzled look* I thought that's what I said? wh...

Re: buying a machine
I have the Model 560 that they referenced. It allows for the use of APAP, where the system is set to use a range of pressure rather than a fixed pressure. It also allows for two different patient comfort modes, A-flex or C-flex. My machine is billed as being an "A-flex" machine, but the clinicians m...

Re: Woo-hoo! Slept w/o my chin strap last night!
Woohoo!! When I first tried nasal pillows I used a chinstrap, but I kept waking up to readjust the mask and the chinstrap. When I tried the mask again I did it without the chinstrap, and it was a whole different experience. I only wake up once or twice a night at the most to adjust my mask. It is so...

Re: Is it normal to feel sleepy in the afternoon?
There are other sleep disorders besides OSA. I have narcolepsy, and never know when I will suddenly get the urge to sleep. Especially in the afternoons, if I am not engaged in a task I will drift right to sleep. For me it has nothing to do with the amount of sleep I had the night before. Narcoleptic...

Re: Best nose pillow for side sleeper?
I use the Nuance. At first I had problems with it slipping when I rolled over, but I finally got everything where I like it, and sleep most of the night on my side now.I usually switch sides at least once or twice a night even.

Re: Respironics System 1 Resistance with Mirage Quattro mask
The resistance setting for all of the Respironics full face masks is X1. I would set it to X1 or go into the clinician's menu and turn it off.

Re: What is the best sleep position for optimal sleep
The one that makes you most comfortable.
That being said most people are more likely to have more obstructive apnea events while sleeping on their back. If you are comfortable and can keep your mask in place sleeping on your side is the most conducive to therapy.

Re: REMstar Auto with A-Flex System 1 & ResMed AirFit P10 for He
I just checked on my machine, and once the System One Resistance is turned on the only way I could find to turn it back to 0 was to go into the clinician's menu. If you don't want to do that I would set the resistance to X2. That is the setting for the Nuance nasal pillow which would be the closest ...

Re: Doxepin for sleep maintanence insomnia
I actually started CPAP for sleep maintenance insomnia. My hypopnea is quite mild, and was not able to continue with any of the other nighttime meds when I switched to Adderall as my daytime med. I am sleeping 6-7 hours a night now. That's a lot better thats 4-4.5.
