It took me from April of 2008 until three months ago to reach that sub 5 AHI.
I used every kind of machine and every kind of pressure. MY AHI even on my ASV was in the low teens, better than the 13-25 I used to run. My Doc blamed my meds, but I haven't changed anything, but stopped opiate PAIN MEDS. Now I'm usually four AHI or a bit less.
I haven't been around in awhile, but wanted to encourage those who are struggling without good results- stick with it.
I also started using a nasal mask- the Wisp, with a chin strap. Over time I learned to keep my mouth closed without a chin strap.
Good luck to anyone who does or does not read this.
Finally under ahi of five!

Congrats! I remember how good I felt when I managed to go below five.
In my case, sleeping on my side brought about a reduction of -4 to AHI (on average). This was also seen in the sleep lab.

To someone with OSA, this saying takes on a whole new meaning:
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."
