Taking screenshots in Sleepyhead...genius!

Post by IreneN » Wed Jul 23, 2014 7:17 am

Newbie here, just one month on CPAP. I'll ask some questions later about what I consider to be slow progress, but thought I'd share something I discovered about taking screenshots. If someone else has posted this, apologies for the repeat (I did do a search and didn't find this).

The easiest way to take a screenshot in Sleepyhead is to use the F12 key or from the View menu, select Take Screenshot. It will capture everything in the Sleepyhead window and save it to a default location and filename. It issues a message near the toolbar, so you know where. BTW, it saves a PNG format file.

A hint for Windows users (and maybe Mac)...if you have your toolbar along the side edge instead of at the bottom, it will clip that width from your screenshot, so just move your toolbar to the bottom while taking screenshots.

Hope this helps somebody. You guys are super! I've learned so much from reading this forum!

Goodnight

This won't work for everybody; my F12 key is also my internet key... using it for a screenshot turns off the wireless access. I use the snipping tool instead, which is nearly as good, definitely easy.

I second this: the snipping tool in MS rocks plus you can use the highlighter or use the drawing tool right from that program. Sadly, it doesn't add text but you can't have it all. Plus it automatically saves to JPG instead of PNG (which is a bloated graphics format). How do you find it: click on the MS flag icon sometimes called the 'start' button > in the text window type in 'snipping tool' > select it at the top of the window. It's totally intuitive. Also you can use a right click of the touchpad or mouse with your cursor on the 'snipping tool' listing to bring up the scroll down menu, then click send to (create shortcut on desktop) Finally you can move the shortcut it wherever you like to keep them. Don't know if all these steps work with Win 8.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

In Windows 8, which has 2 desktops, it's in the apps menu on the "picture" desktop, and whenever I'm in need of it I'm in the original desktop(Win7)mode, so I've "pinned" the tool to my taskbar, but I can still access from the apps menu. Weird, but it works.

I just found the F12 today. Is there an easy way to change the default data location?
