AHI from 76 to 3.3 over 5 nights!

Post by RipSnorter » Wed Jul 23, 2014 1:56 am

Hi People,

I have just completed my 5th night on CPAP and my AHI has gone from 76 down to an average of 3.3.

The dark rings around my eyes are on the retreat. I would now consider myself to be tired, but not completely tapped out. I am very rarely getting up at night now.

To say I am stoked would be an understatement......

Always good to hear when the effort put forth starts paying off. Congrats on your progress.

To say I am jealous would be a huge understatement

Some people just seem to be extremely lucky to get it right off the top...............

Wish you would go into your panel and have the options show us what machines you use, what your pressure is, etc..........

I heard that people with the most severe apnea respond quickest/best to XPAP treatment - and are the ones who probably need it most? Whatever, congratulations on getting the beast under control. You may find you want to get the AHI even lower, but for now that is a great start!

Thanks All,

I am still trialling the CPAP machines. These results are with the fisher and pay ken ICON machine with a resumed quattro air ff mask.

I normally sleep on my side and end up on my stomach, but for the last couple of weeks whilst waiting for the trial, I have been training myself to sleep on the side with my head hanging over the edge of the pillow.

Friday week I will be trialling the resumed machine.

I'd say this must be someone using google translate from swahili, but I don't think even google translate could mangle names that badly...

Could be they were using voice recognition software. Sometimes I get back double-dutch when I thought I was speaking English. The rest of the post was correct: don't be harsh on someone not knowing the names yet. They could also still be suffering from the effects of sleep apnea.

who's being harsh? if they're using voice recognition, it's doing amazingly well...

I was assuming there was some translation effect involved, though I didn't think of VR... and I was having a bit of a laugh at that, not at the person using it.

Sorry Guys,

As much as I would like to blame it on the technology, the cause was between the keyboard and the wider environment (i.e. me). Not checking the typing before posting. It may have had something to do with the keyboard I was using which was still in arrow key mode - I sure miss having arrow keys.....

I apologise for being indecipherable....
