Your mileage may vary, of course. This was from 2014. $400 of my share was the deductible, insurance paid 80% of the rest. If I'd already met the deductible on other stuff, my total cost would've been $156

And then after you do the cleaning, you can run the blower with no water in the reservoir for a couple hours to blow out any loose stuff before you wear it.

Re: Some Fitbit devices to start tracking sleep stages

I have a ResMed S+ and a fitbit Blaze. Here are what they reported for the same night April 25. They give very different results. Draw your own conclusions. Personally, I think the ResMed S+ is likely to be more accurate. Fitbit Blaze http://personalpages.tds.net/~rrwe/FitbitBlaze%20April%2025.JPG ...

Re: when is your prescription valid to fill?

That is strange - maybe it's a miscommunication between your insurance and your DME?

My prescription says it's good for 99 months.

Re: Skipping CPAP while camping

So the question is...do you ever just skip it for a few days? If so how do you feel? My apnea is mild (11x per hour) and my pressure is only a 4 so my apnea is not considered severe (life threatening) but I dont want to try going without it because I hate feeling tired all day. I have fallen asleep...

Re: CPAP without prescription

If CPAP machines were over the counter items, insurance and medicare would no longer cover them. The prices would fall, quality and innovation would improve, a robust resale market would develop and more people would treat their condition. I'm not sure about that. But there are other things that ha...

Re: CPAP without prescription

Their cryptic reply was: "No, you don't need to. This is an auto cpap and will find the correct therapy for you to open up your airway. Thanks!" I'd bet the fine for selling machines without Rx is minimal and profit more then makes up for it. That pressure setting thing probably is the reason the F...

Re: Hi everyone, I have a REMstar Plus w/ humidifier for sale

Wow, tough crowd!

That asking price is about the same as what Secondwind sells it for - it's not outrageous.

But from a private seller with no warranty and such, I'd expect half of that would be an appropriate price.

*edit* Oh crap, burned by the zombie thread.

Re: Sleepyhead low compliance ?

Can someone tell me what to do next ?
Is there a reason you HAVE to be compliant? If so, you need more time in therapy, simple as that.

If it's not for work or insurance, and you feel OK without the four hours most nights, and you understand the risk you're taking... why does it matter?

This is exactly the reason they tell you to put the machine lower than your head... or one of the reasons at least.

Re: Need some advice on something I read, and a product...

Also the hosts of this forum (cpap dot com) sells it for $30 less but you would need a doctors order to buy from them. Why does Amazon seller not require Rx? Question: Is a prescription required? Ive been using my cpap for 4 years and its quit working, the dr said i had to do another sleep study $$...

Re: Newly Diagnosed Yesterday (still sinking in)

Just a little lesson: The C in CPAP means "continuous" not "constant". What most folks in here call APAP is more technically referred to as Auto adjusting CPAP. Neither of the big two suppliers use the term APAP, so it's easy to get confused about what you're getting. There's a lot of terminology to...

Re: How to cheat cpap

OK, I'm not going to condone cheating. But it's reasonable to examine the weaknesses in the compliance checks. 1. The machine counts time used even when you're not asleep. Wearing your mask and breathing normally while awake isn't even considered cheating but it certainly doesn't help with apnea or ...

Looks like I had zero copay for my split sleep study, base cost of $4500. I also had zero copay for my colonoscopy the same year... I think my insurance had a special section for no-copay preventative health care. RESPIRATORY MEDICAL GROUP $430.00 $25.00 SLEEP CENTER $4,500.00 $0.00 RESPIRATORY MEDI...
