80 days on the S9 Autoset - Need a little help

Post by chriscummings83 » Sun Oct 26, 2014 11:18 pm

I am currently on the S9 Autoset w p10 mask. My AHI every night is usually below 6. I am feeling 60 - 70 % better. I have 2 - 3 sleep cycles that last 2-4 hours. Most night are 2, 3 hour constant sleep. I noticed i'm still not feeling great. 95% of my AHI is from CA. I am not remembering to breathe 10-25 seconds usually in a cluster, so 1 min out of 2-3 I really am not breathing.

So I purchased the Pulse O2 sensor, and strapped it on for a NO CPAP night. I didn't go below 87. I was only at 87 for 2 seconds.

I then wore the APAP and wore the 02 sensor. I didn't go below 89 and was only there for a second.

SO my concern is that the CPAP doesn't correct or help with my CA. SO i'm guessing that me not remembering to breathe is basically having the best sleep I can have without having any Obstructive sleep apnea.

I notice if I am super duper tired, or drinking, or on ambein I have less CA. Around 3 the entire night on a 6 hour night. AHI is usually less than 1.

If i am not so tired, and try to put myself back to sleep then my AHI is high around 15 - 30 for that 30mins to 1 hour of sleep.

My only thought would be to try an ASV machine and get help with the CA.

What did your sleep study show? From what I've read, if most of your breathing interruptions are caused by centrals, APAP won't help. You need a machine that will, essentially, breathe for you, not a machine that will splint open your airway so you can breathe for yourself. Do you have a sleep doctor?

is your 95% CA number from your sleep study or your Resmed data?
