I have a M-Series BiPap that I've had for 5 years. Getting something new soon. Looking at the PR System One REMStar 60 Series BiPAP Auto with Bi-Flex and plan on getting the Humidifier with it like I have now. Couple questions for those who might have this setup..
Heated Hose
Apparently the humidifier comes with a heated hose. Never used one (heated hose). Is it possible to use a regular hose? Live in the desert.. hot, I many times just have water in the humidifier and don't turn it on during the summer.
Bacteria Filter
They had one of these on the big Respiration machine I used the in the Hospital. In the description, it goes between the short hose and the long hose, unless you have a heated hose, "When using a heated tube, the Bacteria Filter goes between the long hose and the mask." That seems like it might get in the way with the heated hose.
Humidifier Tank.
The M-Series tank is small compared to my previous RemStar which had a much larger tank. I basically have to fill it every night if I am using it. Is the One REMStar 60 tank larger?
SD Card
My M-Series uses a "Smart" card which uses a special card reader. it only holds about 4-5 days worth of data so if you are trying to keep data on a consistent basis, you have to read the data off of it every 4-5 days or you will lose info. The One REMstar 60 uses an SDcard. I assume you can read this with any SDcard reader. Also is says it can hold a years worth of data. Is that with the card it comes with, Any idea what size of card that is?

Yes, but you can also just turn off the heat to the hose.Krelvin wrote: Heated Hose

That doesn't make any sense - the short hose is the mask.Bacteria Filter

I go through most of a whole tank every night... holds maybe 3/4 cup of water.Humidifier Tank.

Plain old SD card - it's either 2 or 4 GB, plenty big for a year of data. Might not work if you try to use a SDXC or one of the super versions of SD cards.SD Card

2g, but you can put a larger one in there, though it's not necessary.Krelvin wrote: SD Card

Get OSCAR
Accounts to put on the foe list: dataq1, clownbell, gearchange, lynninnj, mper!?, DreamDiver, Geer1, almostadoctor, sleepgeek, ajack, stom, mogy, D.H., They often post misleading, timewasting stuff.

Re: PR System One REMStar 60 Series BiPAP Auto with Bi-Flex
The Series One 60 series records both detailed data and wave form breathing data.
Respironics records data for several years on a singke 2GB card so total storage is no longer limited.
If you use SleepyHead to look at your data, downloading every once in a while will be just fine.
If you use Encore to look at your data, the wave data must be downloaded every day to get and keep it all. Encore only downloads the most recent wave data. The detailed data will all be downloaded any time so that won't be lost if yiu download only every once in a while.
The reporting formats differ dramatically between these two programs so you should look carefully before you decide.
There have been postings showing both styles.

I have Bipap Auto 760 Series that I have been using since April 30, 2013. It has given excellent therapy.Krelvin wrote:I have a M-Series BiPap that I've had for 5 years. Getting something new soon. It does have the heated hose option that I don't use. Probably would be nice in the winter, but I am doing OK without it.
On the bacterial filters I use them. I put it between the machine and the hose going to the mask.
I buy them from cpap.com:
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/Respir ... -pack.html
They work wonderfully. I had a string of sinus infections last July, August and September I started using them in October and have been fine ever since.
On humidifier in the winter I had to put in water every night before bed. Since winter is past I use very little water.
On the SD card I am currently using a 4 gig card that I bought at Staples. The original that I had with the machine I donated to my Sleep Doctor. She said I was excellent example
of terrible therapy in the beginning and then optimized. I have never lost any data off my machine. I use both SleepyHead and Encore Pro with the SD card.
I wish you well

Re: PR System One REMStar 60 Series BiPAP Auto with Bi-Flex
good info.
I got my card reader for my current M-series unit today in the mail. will be pulling reports from it until I the consultation with the sleep dr on the 31st. Most likely won't need a new study if it gives him/her what they are looking for. I've been using my machine for a long time without any issues. I had to get another card reader because I couldn't find the one I took off my old computer. Put it in a safe place that I can't find
Looking for a replacement of my M-series and I think that is is what I will get. Will use the M-series as a backup machine when I get the new one.
