Shout-out for Secondwindcpap.com

Post by Jack_Russel_Fan » Wed Jul 16, 2014 12:00 pm

I've posted before regarding bad DME experiences, so I wanted to post about a good one!

A couple of months ago I ordered an "open box" PRS1 760P with humidifier from secondwindcpap.com and got a brand new zero blower hour machine with all the accessories!! I have been using it for 1 1\2 months with no problems.

Last month I ordered a "gently used" 760P without humidifier to use as a backup. I got a machine with all the accessories and ZERO blower hours.

It is so nice to get better than expected from a DME!

Tom

Providing you know the difference between total machine hours and blower run hours. The run hours can be easily reset, machine hours are reset by software, a little harder to do. Most new machines have some machine hours showing, due to run in and testing at the factory. Jim

Jim, thanks for pointing this out. I was indeed incorrect!

I checked the "open box"' machine again and the blower hours and machine hours are equal. I assume this was indeed a "zero hour" machine when I got it.

The "gently used" machine has been used for 12.5 hours, going by the machine hours. Still a good deal!

Even new machines from the factory seem to have hours recorded on them, probably from testing or run in on the line, they have to be run to calibrated.

The way to know you have a good one is to put 10,000 hours on it, if it's still working correctly for you, you have a good one. Mine is way past that.

Kudo's again to secondwindcpap

I finally saved enough pennies to buy a backup machine & I got tired of sorting through Craigslist listings for a bi-pap machine that met my needs.

They were very patient and walked me through the differences between "open box" and "gently used" as far as machine hours, condition, warranty, etc....& answered all of my questions

The folks at secondwind are as great to deal with as our sponsors here!
