Re: best results with set pressure

I had mine set at 8-11 but last month I set it to straight 8 and have been sleeping great ever since. On most days my AHI is <2 and some days <1 which I never got with APAP. Some of us are just made that way.

Re: Having trouble with FF mask, looking for recommendations

You might also try mask liners if you cannot control leaks; I use a FF mask, and until I learned about liners and started using them, I did not know if I would ever be able to adjust to CPAP. The Quattro Air and AirFit F10 use the same cushions, I have both and the only difference is that F10 does ...

DME instructions to me were to wash short hose daily, long hose weekly. In the beginning I did. Now, not so much.

Re: CPAP vs. APAP

I for one have been doing so much better since I switched from APAP to CPAP and sleeping straight thru the night, which wasn't happening on APAP. I even had an AHI of .30 night before last.

Re: Still waiting to wake up refreshed

Flyingwithoutwings: I think using the CPAP successfully is a great treatment of sleep apnea, but from what my sleep doc just told me the other day, it doesn't cure tiredness or fatigue; just sleep apnea. One of the benefits that we all would like to see is refreshing wake-ups. It has not happened f...

Re: Still waiting to wake up refreshed

Try a straight pressure (CPAP mode) of about 9 cm. and see what things look like. Den . Well I took your advice and put my machine on CPAP mode - started at 8.5 and had a not so good night. Lowered it to 8. Still wasn’t doing that great so I switched from the FFM back to the Wisp and I've been slee...

Wisp vs Airfit N10

Has anyone compared the Wisp to the Airfit N10?

I've read that some people end up with their jaw pushed back a little with a ffm, and that closes the airway a little more.
I believe you, I noticed that when I use a mouth guard with my FFM there are no VS.

Re: VS

Does it always do that or is this the first time you've noticed it? Look for trends, keeping track of whien you use FF or nasal mask. Maybe you don't snore when using nasal mask. Other than that, I can't think of anything to cause that situation. Maybe someone who knows will chime in. Even since I ...

Can anyone tell me why Sleephead shows VS when I wear my FFM and none when I wear my nasal mask?

Re: If you are told you have high blood pressure

I went in for a stress test and after taking my blood pressure the nurse said, "I don't think he's going to do the stress test today, your BP is high." She left & came back and said, "I don't think he likes you today, he's going to do the stress test anyway." The doctor comes in, I get on the machin...

Re: If you are told you have high blood pressure

Wow, for me it's the opposite. I take my blood pressure at home and it's high. I go to the doctor and it's fine. Go figure. I guess I stress myself out.

Re: Poll: Can CPAP be a torture for some?

I will "celebrate" my fourth CPAP anniversary this September. Since September 23, 2010 there have been a total of 3 nights without PAP, and one of them was a second diagnostic PSG. One was caused by my battery going haywire in the middle of a camping trip; that problem was fixed by borrowing a very...
