Respironics Bi Pap Auto w/bi flex. (5 button). This is an older unit. Not M-series. Not PR System One.
Looks like the one in this link.

My wife flew from Seattle to GA yesterday (Sunday) for a two week business trip. When she went to turn on her bipap last night it would run for a few seconds then shutdown with error code 48.
Needing to get her up and running with some sort of air machine, I overnighted her old Respironics cpap machine today so she would at least have something.
Code 48 says:
E-48 ERR_PV2_SENSOR_RAILED •Occluded or restricted pressure tube •Defective pressure sensor •Replace pressure tube •Replace Main PCA
Is this fixable?
Thanks
Wayne

Contact Accurate Biomed Services for an estimate.
They should be able to turn the repair around while she is still on travel.
Contact Ian McCollough ian@acbio.com for help.
Most likely first contact will be Monday.
I'll edit this post with an 800 number in a minute or two.
OK I'm back.

Re: Respironics Bi Pap Auto w/bi flex. (5-button) Error code 48
The most common cause of failure in the older machines, esp when traveling when people forget to empty their water chamber.
You might be able to find another bipap for her (at a reasonable price) in the GA Craigslist. If we knew what part of Ga we might be able to help.

Thank you for the reply. I'll call and see what all would be involved with getting the machine to them and back again.JDS74 wrote:Contact Accurate Biomed Services for an estimate.

Do you know if this repair is pretty much a remove and replace type job? In doing some research this seems to be the main PCA for her machine.

Thanks. She doesn't use the humidifier on her machine.Guest wrote:The most common cause of failure in the older machines, esp when traveling when people forget to empty their water chamber.

If you search this forum for error code 48 you will find that others have said that condensation can cause this problem. I know GA has been very humid lately.Wayne02 wrote:Thanks. Did she carry her equipment on the plane or check it with the baggage?
Re: Respironics Bi Pap Auto w/bi flex. (5-button) Error code 48
We always carry our machines onto the plane.Guest wrote: Did she carry her equipment on the plane or check it with the baggage?
Sent Ian an email on July 15th, no response yet.
I have the bipap back in my possession and have taken it apart. Unfortunately the part number on the PCA in the machine does not match the one in the ebay listing. Is there anywhere else that parts for these things can be obtained?
Thanks
