Name some other things you liked
The Wire - My favorite
Breaking Bad
Sherlock Holmes (BBC)
Perry Mason (b&w)

I don't like fantasies so Thrones is probably out.

Like realistic, gritty, but not frenetic action. Character development is prime importance.

Do you like horror movies? Wolf Creek 2 is available to stream on Netflix....kind of amusing. Also any of the Hostel Movies. For a series, I would recommend "Walking Dead". Believe it or not, I also really enjoy good films.........recent good ones: Lone Survivor, Normal Heart (on HBO), American Hustle, Dallas Buyers Club, Philomena.......Gravity (lousy don't understand the kudos) and 12 years a slave (also lousy......again a politically correct movie oscar but it was really boring). The Impossible, Captain Phillips, and Django Unchained (hilarious!) were all pretty good. I could go on an on. Some really good foreign films if you are not adverse to reading subtitles.

Have you been cut off from Netflix since they upgraded their new format. Have you been given misinformation by their support people. Why are we their bug fix testers. Why do they use us like we don't matter. If we all don't complain they will keep treating us this way. Reach out and complain. They don't care how much of your time they waste!!!!

Have no idea what you are talking about - it's still working for me.

Just heard a report on Bloomberg News Thursday that NetFlix is going gangbusters. Said 70% of internet traffic in prime time is NetFlix downloads - nearly unbelievable volume. Also said part of reason for poor movie theater attendance this year is NetFlix popularity. (They did not say, but I will venture part is due to paucity of good movies released this year and late last year.)

So maybe your problem is isolated to you? Hope you get it straightened out.

While I am here, let me say I have been too busy. lately to watch much NetFlix or HBO Go. But I did start the TV series Louie, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louie_(TV_series) recently.

It is an excellent series. It's a bit too vulgar in places but overall I am enjoying it. Nice that an episode is 22 minutes so even with my busy schedule I can quickly watch one before bed.

My wife presented me with a DVD of Once Upon a Time in America (Sergio Leone). She overheard a German friend of mine saying it was the best movie he has ever seen and she knew I wanted to see it for the first time.

It's about four hours long, so I might have to have another surgery to find time to watch it. If you comment on it, please no spoilers.

I've watched 'The Killing' on Netflix. It's pretty dark so best 'beware'.

OK, so normally, I would never watch, let alone recommend, something that was subtitled, but I recently watched a great French series on Netflix called The Returned. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2521668/. Looking forward to season 2.

Just a little update. I started "Mad Men" late last fall and am on the fourth season now. Excellent series!

I also will probably DVR "Better Call Saul" which premiers this Sunday and Monday on AMC. This is the first "Breaking Bad" spinoff.

What do you think about these two?

Any others that you recommend? Particularly on NetFlix.
