Re: New to CPAP but feeling much worse instead of better

OK, then this is probably the point at which you should consult your doctor.

Re: Waking up at 2:30-3:00am every single night past 3 weeks

Here's some good information about changing circadian rhythms: https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/circadian-rhythm-disorders/treatment But I'm not sure whether that's your problem; I think of circadian rhythms as governing when you're ready to fall asleep. I could be wrong about that, though. The timi...

Re: [Health] Low AHI but poor sleep. Thinking about Supplementation

How do you know you're having inadequate deep sleep, as opposed to inadequate REM or total sleep time? I'll echo Julie's question: have you had testing for possible medical issues causing you to feel groggy and tired? You might ask your doctor to test for thyroid, testosterone (if you are a man), ir...

Re: New to CPAP but feeling much worse instead of better

Have you tried using the machine during the day or evening yet? If not, please do and tell us how it goes. Please also either get an SD card for your machine or set up a free account with Sleep HQ. These are steps you need to take for us to be able to help you. It sounds to me as though you're exper...

Re: New to CPAP but feeling much worse instead of better

How much humidity is the right amount for you is something only you can tell. So use the next few days to see what feels most comfortable for you when you’re awake. Try more and try less as well as your current auto setting.

Re: Few Questions

OK, if you really pulled your mask off, then that's why there's a large leak there. Because your mask was off, the machine couldn't detect any exhale following your big inhale, so it "thought" you were having some kind of event. Don't worry about the LL and the UA. You had about 45 seconds of distur...

Re: New to CPAP but feeling much worse instead of better

You've only tried CPAP for two nights. Despair would be premature! Even though you've done some sleeping with it at night, you clearly are not sleeping well with it. You may not be consciously bothered by how new the CPAP experience is, but your mind and body may nonetheless need some experience and...

Re: New to CPAP but feeling much worse instead of better

Welcome! If it helps you to know this, a lot of people who do well with PAP therapy have a rough time of it at the beginning. I certainly did. Here are a few thoughts about what you've mentioned: Set you machine up outside your bedroom and use it during the day or evening while you read, watch TV, o...

Re: Few Questions

An unknown apnea is one that the machine can't identify as obstructive or non-obstructive. Sometimes that happens during a large leak; sometimes it just happens. If you can post the link to the SleepHQ information, we can take a look. With an AHI of .5, you're doing great. You will still have the oc...

Re: Does 10 EEG arousals/hour mean sleep apnea?

Just to underline a point robysue has made: some arousals come after respiratory effort, and others don't. The latter are sometimes called "spontaneous" arousals. You're right that it's normal to have a fair number of arousals off and on throughout the night, but this will include both spontaneous a...

Re: Bleep Dreamport Mask Solution

ChicagoGranny, I had the same problem with the Eclipse. The pull of the magnetized connection does produce an uncomfortable tug on the nostrils, at least for some of us. As for why someone would want to stick a hose on their nose: number one reason for me, no mask leaks to wake me up; number two rea...

You can also put a pocket t-shirt on backwards with a tennis ball in the pocket.

But why do you want to have your test while you sleep in a position that doesn't come naturally to you?

Re: I'm getting really mad at CPAP.com

IT has made some server storage corrections that should help with the attachment storage problem....at least for now. They are working on a more permanent solution. So for now.....I think you can post attachments. Excellent news! Do they consider allowing the moderator and her deputies to delete ol...

No connectivity problems for me. Now I'm hoping CPAP.com can solve the attachment problem.
