cpap and altitude

I will be spending time in Denver. Now that I am an auto pap regular, I wonder how cpap solutions address altitude? I will probably look into a new machine soon (as soon as I find out what I should use or continue to use.) I saw the Dream Station addresses altitude.

Anyone have info or experience with this? Thank you.

I believe your machine will adjust automatically to the altitude.

It's just automatic on all modern machines.

I can confirm for the altitude, I live next to the sea level, yet I recently went on a business trip in more mountaineous regions and my machine adapted itself to the new situation without my assistance.

I live in Alabama and my DME had no idea of the altitude question other than my Dreamstation is "automatic". I asked her to find out about an altitude of 9,300' since I was going skiing in Keystone, CO. She checked with Respironics and they said the Dreamstation would work fine at that altitude and it did. So with Denver being at 5,200' you should be good to go unless your machine is a bit long in the tooth.

I looked up the model in your profile. It will compensate for altitudes up to 8500 ft (approx 2600 m). This is considerably higher than Denver (which is 5280 ft). In truth, it would probably work at even higher than the stated altitude, they're just covering themselves.

I live in Denver and haven't had any problems at 5280 feet, nor up in the mountains camping at 8000 feet.
