Reading My Old CPAPTalk.com Posts

Post by Joe_0206 » Tue Apr 15, 2014 11:20 am

I just spotted this post of mine from March 2006.
I’m a 47-year-old, 220 pound, married guy with no kids amateur geek. I spent twenty-eight years in broadcast radio from the late seventies to just a few years ago. If you listened to radio in markets from Peoria, Illinois to Savannah, Georgia; and from Birmingham, Alabama to Little Rock, Arkansas… you may have heard me. My air-name was Joe Logan. We were tired of the moving around, so decided to settle down in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Not much education, I starting working while still in high school and never looked back.

Currently, I’m a customer service rep for Medicare. It’s an outsourced position with Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield. I’m hoping to move up to a position in marketing.

I hang on to my radio past with a small home studio. I record voice for television and radio commercials, long form video presentations, telephone messages on hold, radio station imaging sweepers and more.

My wife and I spend too much time on the computer... we have two.

My wife is a paralegal with a medium size firm in Little Rock. Mostly corporate cases, but it calls for a lot of hard work.

We have three cats named Rusty (15,) O’Malley (6) and Tucker (3.)
Wow have times changed. I'm now 55 and we have 7 cats (yes we are insane). Little Rusty is gone and we now have O'Malley, Tucker, Tomi, Bella, Mikey, Pippi and Lillie. I'm now a Supervisor for the same company and I'm completely out of radio. Plus, my wife recently had to quit work for health reasons. She filing for disability.

I guess time flies when your having fun.

Can you find any old posts of yours that make you laugh?

Probably not... I've been here 2 months, still in the learning stages of all this... but it's nice to know where people come from and a little about their background..

I remember asking how can I get a .2 or .3 apnea event. My question was either I had an event or I didn't have an event and how could I have a 2/10th of an event? I think the answer was "the machine could not make up its mind".... but I'm not sure.... and to be honest, I still don't know the answer to the question!

I dug out this oldie (one of my first):
"For the last three months, I have had my machine on all night, every night. The few times I dozed off without it, even for just a few minutes, I woke up feeling totally like crap; so basically, my equipment is 'anti-crap CPAP' tee, hee. Resistance was futile--I have been assimilated. "
Yesterday was my 5th anniversary on the hose! Happy, happy!
