Sleep study on the night of 4/25. Friday night seems strange. Is this a legit lab?

I had mine done on Saturday night, so yeah it's probably legit!
Re: I will need your help wearing the stuff.
I hate to add to your cynicism and feed your denial (as indicated by your question), but yes, Friday night is as good a night as any to make money. The more nights these sleep labs are open, the more money that comes in.
Having said that, IF the sleep study shows you have apnea and you need a CPAP, it isn't necessarily all about the profit mode. It's also about your health.

My study was on Friday night. It is scheduled this way to accommodate people who are employed and don't want to miss work.

Agreed.
I work evenings until 11pm, so I had to request the day off the sleep study, and I requested the next day off so that I could go home and sleep late. I actually felt so good after the titration that I didn't need to go back to bed. My days off vary each week, so I didn't lose a day of work. I just rearranged which days I was off. But I can see how this would be useful for people who can't change their schedule and would lose a day of pay if they had to take a day off.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

They get paid for doing the study whether you end up needing a cpap machine or not. And many sleep labs do NOT sell the machines themselves.

How is that different from grocery stores, gas stations, drug stores, department stores etc etc?Janknitz wrote:I hate to add to your cynicism and feed your denial (as indicated by your question), but yes, Friday night is as good a night as any to make money. I don't think it was meant as a bad thing. There is no reason for them NOT be open on the weekends. They can do sleep studies for people who would rather do them on teh weekend, and there is often a waiting list. So, it is good for the lab as well as the patients.
Like you stated, there are lots of businesses who are open on the weekends. The original poster was thinking it might not be legitimate because they were doing a sleep study on a friday night. I see no reason for them NOT to do it on a friday night.

This is going really well. I need to put up a new avatar to reflect how much better I feel and look.
Now I hate I chose that name.
Of course there is no longer much reason for me to post here.

Congratulations on taking to CPAP successfully. Before you go, how about sharing your success in a little more detail? Why do you think you have been successful? Of course, there may be times in the future when things do not go quite as well - it's called life, and sometimes life sucks! So we may see you back one day ...

You choose the name because that is how you felt at the time... I can't blame you..KillingMe wrote:This is going really well. I need to put up a new avatar to reflect how much better I feel and look.

That's great to hear! Your original post was so dripping with negative attitude that I thought there was no way you were going to succeed.

What?
Maybe his name and choice of avatar were "negative", but his post was straightforward and asked a reasonable question for an inexperienced patient.
I am not a medical professional and I have no medical training.
