OT Hope and recovery

Post by carbonman » Mon Mar 31, 2014 6:25 pm

3rd week on my bike. Getting into a routine.
Getting past the initial aches and pains.
Getting past the lack of oxygen.
Getting past the burn of those first hills.
The last two rides, seeing and feeling it coming back.
Sleeping better.
Feeling better.
Really feeling like I'm going to make it out of the darkness.

I'll see you on the road.

He's baaaaaack! This post did my heart good. I know life's been rough in recent times, but it's good to see you enjoying your biking again.

Thank you Carbonman, I have surely missed your wonderful photos. Takes me back to the time son was stationed in C. Springs and we would spend holidays in your neck of the woods. Glad to see you back on the bike and doing what you love..... one day at a time.
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

The C-Man returns to the bike trail!

A couple of things that you said stood out to me.

First, Getting into a routine.
This is the key for any activity/exercise program, eh?

and this...

Sleeping better.
Feeling better.
Really feeling like I'm going to make it out of the darkness.

Should be required reading for all who visit here.

Good on ya!

Routine....isn't that really necessary for most things....
but for sure an exercise program.
I am amazing myself at how fast it is coming back.
I turned over 225 miles so far. Put two back to back days
together yesterday and today.
Starting to increse the climbing.....the key to riding in Colorado.
Got'a be able to climb.

Rode up to Green Mt today.

It was a chilly day. Storm clouds rolling in over S. Table Top.
I should make it home in time.
Image

...so, I'm setting my own example....for myself.
If you don't use it, you will lose it.
It may be a bit painful to start, but once you get in that routine....
it begins to feel so good.

I'll see you on the road.
