Re: DIY Humidifier Chamber Question
I don't have anything meaningful to add, I'm just curious why you want this. I have a different system but even just putting a small amount of water in the chamber I never run out. Are you consuming a lot more water?

Re: Escaping from Windows XP before the deadline
Do you know the deadline for changing from XP...? April 8th of this year (about a week). That doesn't mean that XP will suddenly stop working on the 9th, Microsoft will simply no longer support it (outside of very expensive premier support contracts that generally start around $200k/year and go way...

Re: SleepyHead Test Build for Mac OS X
I just downloaded it and opened it and so far it looks fine. Too bad you don't have some 'dummy data' for us to use to see how it works. Is it possible to do that? Can anyone provide some 'dummy data' for us to work with? This thread is very old and was necro'ed. That build's been out for quite a w...

I keep seeing people say this but on my Retina MacBook Pro running Mavericks I have never write protected and it has never been a problem. What have other people been running into?kaiasgram wrote: If you use a Mac it's a good idea to slide the write-protect tab over before you put it into the computer.

Re: Why wont Sleepy Head show me my graphs?
A couple questions that may seem obvious but best to eliminate the simple before exploring the complex. Did you use the import feature to bring your data in from the card? (for me there are navigation options on the right and "Import" is one of them) Did you select the base folder or drive that the ...

Re: What Do You Think of BMI?
Furthermore, the formula still holds true for "weight [not] STAY[ing] lost", if you don't have the discipline to stay with a healthy diet and exercise level, yes, you will increase weight again. The math doesn't lie. In other words, it's all about fatties and their lack of willpower.... A true MORA...

Re: Do I "really" need a CPAP-Mild sleep apnea
What exactly are you being sold for $2500? You seem to imply that profit motive is at work here. I don't think we have nearly enough detail to tell you that. If you really are suspect, take your results for a second opinion somewhere. I don't have personal experience with low levels of apnea but I c...

Re: What Do You Think of BMI?
Let's stay within a few standard deviations of the mean. For the overwhelming majority of people who are overweight eating less and expending more energy will lead to weight loss. Yes, that is simple and predictable. Further, although I'm not familiar with the book you've referenced the title doesn...

Re: What Do You Think of BMI?
Run a deficit of 500 calories a day and you will lose a pound per week. Exceed DCE by 500 calories a day and you will gain a pound a week. This is as predicable (and as metaphorically appropriate) as a fire. Reasons that this does not appear to "work" are: People overestimate their RMR; People over...

Re: OT - Southwest Airlines & CPAP (Boarding & Stowing)
I don't fly southwest but I thought the airlines were required to allow you to keep medical devices with you in the cabin and that wasn't left to airline discretion. The legacy carrier I fly with has never given me any trouble but my frequent flier status (and tendency to fly F class) usually has me...

Re: Poll: Official mask lending thread?
It's not for me but if it were I think I would have skipped the poll and gone straight to the thread. We don't need consensus here, people who are not interested won't participate, those who are can. I voted no but why not either turn this thread into the "great mask swap" or start a thread specific...

Re: What Do You Think of BMI?
@djhall looks like we're closer in opinion than I thought. @cuda yeah, that's part of what I was attempting to say. I think that people who were never in the correct range (or weren't paying attention when they were) tend to think, "I couldn't drop that much weight," when in fact most can. I believe...
