APAP vs. CPAP

Had straight CPAP at the titration study. Blew my sinuses out. Insisted (rather demanded--based on what I learned here on this brd) and held out for my apap. Dr. could've cared less, and my phantom ghost DME lady, knew dit-squat on how my 420E worked, actually reading the manual to me. Forget them. ...

PB420E

Check the air venting holes in your mask/nasal pillow. If you feel the rush of air, then your machine is working. I have not had it ''shut off'' because if it did, or my mask pulls away from my face, I instantly wake up and know something's not right. I too, have had to raise my pressure, and am now...

Hi!

A funny story, I actually called PB asking a question: re the brochure Well to say the least I was chewed up and spit out verbally by some dweeb whom, had I thought quickly when he asked me, "what company are you from" I could've said some bogus name and he would've answered my question no problem. ...

Maxalt? Migraines......etc.

My apap sleep has been very fractured, and the more the headache wakes me up, the more the swifty comes off, so it's a vicious circle. This "maxalt" drug people are mentioning, is it a triptan type drug? Since getting 2 stents in June in my heart, I cannot take any of the imitrex migraine type drugs...

Migraines and APAP

Besides sleep apnea, and 2 heart stents, am now into killer migraines. Does anyone have any experience with using their device. The swift itself, is so lightweight, even that causes excruciating pain. Cannot take imitrex, so any tips on migraine use to actually use my apap again. Not sleeping well w...

Re: What's your pressure?

7-14 on apap only.Average a few ''10'''s or ''11's" but seem to hunker around 8-9 for most of night. My thought is why get higher pressure for a straight ole cpap, when you may actually need LESS? I know I am setting the cpap's screaming, and the apap's smilin'...I would only ever stay on apap. I wa...

Re: Silverlining Software Accuracy and PB 420 reliability

The n.p. probably gets a bigger commish from the old dogs they have lying on the shelf. Fight for the apap, and insist on a new scrip. Get it from cpap.com. I did both the DME route (and I won't bore you with the details), and now that I know what I Know I'd buy from cpap.com. anytime. My insurance ...

I vote for the 420E

for all the reasons ''will succeed'' mentioned.
It has my vote.

[quote="WAFlowers"]Hmmm ... 2 votes for the 420E. Any others?

Masks are something I've yet to take a good look at. My cursory browsing leaves me bewildered with the choices. I guess I should start deciding on a mask to try soon.

Re: Silverlining and snoring

Machine can't actually ''do'' anything about snoring, the program only registers your snoring activity or any sound activity. I use a chin strap so my snoring must be kind of muffled or sputtering, but it does register my ''noises'' whatever they are. I think and am not an expert, but I'm pretty sur...

Re: Aura, Breeze or Switft

I use the swift. Tried the Breeze/Aura, and all that hard firm plastic nonsense to me was uncomfortable, no matter how I would've tweaked it. I am sticking with the swift. I went from a medium which the DME (casper ghost, never saw her again) said most ''woman'' wear. Well this woman, needed the lar...
