Crestor effects on Centrals

Hi All,
For years I've had great ahi at times below 1. Over the last few weeks, I've started to get clusters of Centrals...sometimes 10-15 within a half hour periord a couple of times a night....never had this problem before...waking up like a bag of bricks because of it. I had started on the crestor generic a couple of months ago. I've made an app't with the sleep doc for next week. Getting worried as one of the centrals last night showed as 89 seconds...which I have trouble believing. Most are 10-20 seconds. Can't figure out why this has started over the last few weeks but it certainly has me concerned. As of yesterday, I've stopped the statin to see whether that was the cause...can't find anything that would suggest it would be. I've never had a problem with centrals before. Set pressure at 11.4 for years...tried my old auto vantage and pressure requirements are the same. What luck! Any thoughts? Thanks

You're not likely to get the doctor to agree that the Crestor is the cause, but you'll find out for yourself since you've stopped it. Let us know, I'm curious.

Some doctors think that statins are benign and there are studies showing that they FAIL to recognize the side effects, often because the onset side effects can be delayed from the time the individual starts taking the drug. Side effects can range from mild muscle pain to severe muscle damage, transient global amnesia and a dementia that mimics Alzheimer's (but improves when statins are discontinued). How many people out there diagnosed with dementia may improve if their statins are discontinued???

I've been taking Crestor for about 6 years and been on cpap a little over 2 1/2 years and have seen no ill effects on my sleep apnea from Crestor, that's just me, you might be different.

My doctor says that statins is left in the blood for up to 4 months after you stop take them.
