Re: New Simplus mask is loud.

I got my new supplies; mask, pillows, hose, filters. Tried my new mask Sunday night but it was very loud, and it wasn't the vents. I think its coming from the swivel part, though I can't feel any air blowing there. I had to go outside to the recyling bin and dig out my old mask. Are some masks like...

Re: Sex and cpap

Totally agree with you Sleeprider! The CPAP really isn't a deal breaker. Let's be real about it (chuckles). We all have a certain ways to indicate "we are in the mood ". All you do is take off the mask and turn off the machine. Simple as that. Just because the mask is on doesn't mean it "has" to st...

Re: Cough advice?

Having a dry couch from a cold is bad enough, but it is really bad when one is wearing an airfit f10. That in itself is better than coughing with a taped mouth, which I normally do with my pilairo Q. I have been using Mucinex maximum strength, but I can't completely kick this cold. Any advice is ap...

Re: Sex and cpap

I have finally met a fantastic man. He wants to spend the night together and so do I but how do I pull out the cpap and not scare him off. Obviously i have to prepare him for it but I dont want to wear it when we are together. What have others done? 1.) You should make him wait for it. That will ac...

Re: FullFace versus Pillows

If the size and fitting are not tge issue, you need to try other masks. Take your pillow and machine (without hunidifier) and even if you have to lie on the floor, test samples in a lying down position. Trying a mask sitting up will be a waste of time because your face contours are very different i...

Re: FullFace versus Pillows

I have been using Biotene mouth wash for a few years to help the dry mouth caused by the RLS meds and it really helps for about 4-5 hours . My Machine is PR System one and is showing leaks over 65%.I have changed the mask cushion every 30 days as recommended and still have the leakage so am definit...

Re: ResMed Mirage Quattro Forehead support change?

Come bedtime I was forced to not sleep or try to get the forehead support off. I could not do it. I can say that I tried rather hard to unscrew the forehead support and it will extend out all the way..and stops. I am physically unable, short of using a pair of pliers, to get it to unlock. Using pli...

Re: Mold in water chamber...what the heck?

Just curious as to why you wouldn't use a bleach ie; chlorine solution to kill the mold? You are aware bleach is in our drinking water. And bleach is removed very easily with hot water. Because the manufacturers explicitly say do not use bleach , do not use vinegar, and, presumably, do not use gaso...

Re: ResMed Mirage Quattro Forehead support change?

1) why are you making such a federal case out of not being able to disassemble a *brand new* mask? I'm not sure what you mean by "federal case"..that's 1940's era slang, correct? In essence, you are supposed to be able to disassemble it to clean it and I need the piece for an older mask, for reason...

Re: ResMed Mirage Quattro Forehead support change?

I cant say one way or the other but I will put money on the fact they have NOT changed the design. It's the same ancient mask we know and love. It would be senseless to prevent unscrewing the piece, anyway. The whole thing was meant to come apart for full cleaning. Just unscrew it all the way == it ...

Re: newbie with Amara View mask

How does it seal under the nose? A slot, or two openings? I may be wrong about this but I think it is going to be a slot and the cushion appears to be very similar to what we used as an option called the cradle cushion for the OptiLife mask. You can get an idea what it is like here https://www.cpap...

Re: Mold in water chamber...what the heck?

Are you using distilled water or ?? Distilled but I never empty the chamber, should I empty and dry daily?? Yes -- like most things in life you can either do things the lazy way, or the right way. I am admittedly guilty of the lazy way, at times. However, the right way is to just follow the manufac...

Re: newbie with Amara View mask

I have one of the Amara View masks as well. I just love it. DME told me it was in testing stage and I was a guinea pig and to provide them feedback that they would forward to Respironics. I would categorize it as a hybrid pillows and ffm. Comfortable and effective. Much better results than my previ...

Re: newbie with Amara View mask

I think I have the leaks under control now for my mask now. AHI < 2 for the last two nights! WOW, WOW, WOW! This is really innovative -- nothing like anything I have seen on the market before, aside, roughly, from the Liberty hybrid. Is the nasal seal a double walled design, where it inflates up an...

Re: newbie with Amara View mask

Many thanks! My husband tends to breathe out through his mouth while sleeping, so we thought a FFM would be necessary. However, that may well be related to his struggling to breathe during apneas (moderate). Nasal congestion is not a big issue for him. First, like Pugsy said, your machine is set wi...
