Name your machine using a woman's name.

Tell your girlfriend you have been sleeping with X for Y nights now.

When she finds out X is not a real woman, she will be so relieved she will accept X with open arms.

One of my sons is facing the same problem. All I had to say is it boils down to two options:

1) If she's cool with it, she's a keeper.

2) If she's not, her loss.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

A woman can tolerate a lot for the sake of love. This list can go on forever. We don't want to mention what men have to put up with though.
farts
snoring
not putting cap on tooth paste
clothes on the floor

"not putting the cap back on the toothpaste"? You mean my wife is not the only one that does that?

Also, I think the naming idea for introducing xPAP to a girlfriend is just plain off the hook good. Great suggestion!

I don't know how to start one of those fancy pole things, but this would be a great topic.

How about naming her, Ophelia, the young noble woman of Denmark?

I had considered "Aeolus" at one time, but considered the opposite nightstand may hold "Mariah"

Hi,

I am more worried about your attitude about CPAP than I would be about her perception. Why be embarrassed that there is a device that is essentially a miracle cure for an otherwise devastating disease? I think you are going to have to learn to be a little more accepting of yourself if you want to have others love you back. To put it in a different light, would you be embarrassed to be around her if she broke her arm and needed a cast? Or had breast cancer?

As a woman I can say that this would never have bothered me. Not even when I was really young (33 now). If you care for someone you would much prefer for them to have life saving treatment vs. losing them to death. Besides, it is only on during sleep. Why would a woman care what you looked like while she's sleeping? I can see why a man would be embarrassed about low T but as I said above. If you care for someone, it shouldn't matter.

Well we all our bias here so its easy for all of us to agree that using a xpap machine is acceptable but there are alot of ignorant people out there that have never heard of such a thing. My hairdresser for example gave me the "confused" look when I told her what I was going thru...she had never heard of sleep apnea before so I was thinking to myself is this what I will be going thru once I start dating again?,,maybe I should just ask out women here on the forum instead?

d

p.s. maybe Ill name my machine Katrina as in Hurricane Katrina

How old is she? If she's old she probably wont care, because she'll likely have her own health problems anyway.

If she's young and you don't want to freak her out before you get married and she's stuck with you... then I would start out using the most descrete masks possible like the Swift FX nasal pillows mask or the new Respironics Nuance gel pillows. Tell her it keeps you from snoring and helps you sleep better. That is usually sufficient, and hey, no one likes snoring.

Later on, hopefully, as you and she become more acclimated to it all, you can decide whether and when to trot out the big guns....

About low testosterone, I wouldn't really discuss it anyway, if you are on treatment for it and its not a danger.
