Little Data found

Post by JaceMiami » Fri Dec 06, 2013 4:18 pm

I'm in week 6 of using CPAP and my only regret is not agreeing to this 10 years ago. What a life changer. Nice to wake up rested and be able to function throughout the entire day. Like a kid with a new toy, every morning I remove the SD card and pop it into my computer to "read" my progress. Problem is, the only info I find is hours used.

I have a ResMed H5i (iPX1)
Where can I find all the rest of the data (AHI) etc..., is it available to me, or are the folks at the sleep clinic the only ones able to access all the other data I often see mentioned in these posts.

Thanks for all the great posts; I have learned a lot these last 6 weeks.

Cheers

Jace

Jace,

You just told us what HUMIDIFIER you have, but not which blower. Look on the front for "Autoset" or "Auto Escape' or "Elite" or "Escape". Tell us what it says.

The Escape does not record any information other than how many hours used. That's why you can't get any more info when you put the SD card into your computer.

Hi,

Unfortunately, I think that hours used is the only data that an Escape records and reports. In my opinion, it is a crime that vendors push these low end boxes that are about as dumb as a brick. It makes it impossible to track and optimize your treatment. If you have an option to return the machine, please do so. If you are stuck with it, consider using it as a backup or travel machine, and pick up another one that is data capable.

See if you can get your doctor to write a new prescription that indicates the need for a machine that tracks data...preferably the Resmed Autoset or Elite. That may help you get an exchange of machines.

Fortunately, all of the S9 models use the same humidifier. After 9 months with my original Elite,
I continued using the original humidifier with my new Autoset.
Maybe I'll need a new humidifier before a new blower (flow generator).
