Can this machine possibly be any good? Is it a good option for those without insurance or money?

The seller is apparently a bit confused; the term "oxygen therapy" is used twice!

This machine doesn't even seem to offer compliance data or AHI.
You will need a prescription.
I'm afraid this is not a suitable machine for home titration, even without health insurance. You will be better off trying to find someone who can donate something to you that at least offers AHI readings and compliance data.

There is a reason it only has a 30 day warranty. Steer Clear of this contraption.

According to what little I was able to find out about that particular model, you need a manometer to set its pressure. It's full range of info to the user is found on two lights: blower on and ramp.

My wife has been using this machine for almost a year. Without health insurance, the only other option that we had was to make monthly payments on a better unit through the University of Iowa. After 15 monthly payments, it would have been just over $1800. It has no humidifier. It doesn't offer compliance data. But it keeps my wife breathing until she wakes up. Well worth the money, well worth the risk, but once you can afford better, invest in something else. The lack of a humidifier dries out her throat and nose on occasion.

I've used one of these machines for almost 3 years now. It is simple to operate (once you get past setting the pressure, which is admittedly difficult), reliable and relatively quiet.
I understand it's been discontinued - as so many affordable and worthwhile products have been. I mourn the passing of this device, because it means my next unit will cost much more than it's worth.
