Re: Can an ASV be made to perform as a BiLevel?
Yes it can, but how come you want to? ASV is prescribed for central apneas and cheyne stokes breathing. Bilevel is more for hypoventilation (when you have problems with your lungs and can't get rid of carbon dioxide) Bilevel and ASV are completely different machines and are treating different disord...

Re: My last 30 Day Report
Looks great.
I wouldn't be too concerned about AHI of 6. People without sleep apnea can have an AHI of almost 5. (Anything under 5 is normal)
If you're feeling tired or waking up, maybe speak to your doctor. He might tweak the pressure a little. But looks like you're going good

Re: Resmed S9 AHI affected by bathroom breaks?
Concerning yourself about an AHI less than 5 is not needed
I don't have sleep apnea, and my AHI would be close to 5.
It's completely normal to have a few events.
Are the central apneas apparent most nights? Under 5 an hour is normal. I note you had them higher than this - is this every night?

Re: Maximizing my CPAP effort
A hypopnea is just as serious as an apnea. Your oxygen desaturation can drop just as low as an apnea, if not lower. Both also disturb your sleep by causing you to arouse. There's basically no difference between them. Wouldn't be surprised if the scoring rules one day change to combine them into the ...

Re: Maximizing my CPAP effort
I really don't recommend following your data so closely. Our head physician likens it to weighing yourself several times a day. There's no point. An AHI of 5 is great. Really, the only reason you would need to check your data is if you were feeling tired again. Or you suspected leak etc. It's too ea...
