Re: Hi, all. A brief introduction.

Thanks for that info, Bev. I'll make note of it and question the doc when I see him for my study results. Bleep, I have complex apnea -- diagnosed with OSA, and when they went to titrate me, the ole brain said, "Shucks, don't need to tell her to breathe any more!" which must have been a shock to th...

Re: Hi, all. A brief introduction.

the code is the same for a cpap as an apap but a specialized machine will be a different code - it is like a bipap is a different code than a cpap if you have the diagnosis of complex sleep apnea with Cheyne-Stokes respiration, you need to find a new sleep doc if all they say is sleep at X cm of pr...

Re: Hi, all. A brief introduction.

Whoa. I had time today to read about the BiPAP Auto SV machine that Bev linked to (https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machine/bipap-auto-sv-cpap.html). That's like a dream machine, for me. But I seriously doubt my DME is going to provide something as costly as that. (I know the insurance code is exactly the ...

Re: I want my life back....

Just a quick update,,, last night I tried the RESMED Liberty mask, and im sure i had it adjusted wrong because i felt like someone was trying to shove telephone poles up my nose until i ripped it off and went back to my full face mask and finally got to sleep. One quick suggestion for you: Try to a...

Re: Hi, all. A brief introduction.

You may need more than just any data cpapable machine. Ask your doctor if you can try the machine that is made for treating complex sleep anpnea: https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machine/bipap-auto-sv-cpap.html "Complex Sleep Apnea occurs when a person is identified as having Obstructive Sleep ...

Re: Hi, all. A brief introduction.

If you were diagnosed with severe complex sleep apnea, you may be better off using a machine that is designed for that disorder. The machine that you are using is designed for straight OSA. Do you have a copy of your sleep study? If your doctor thinks that you are fine and you know that you aren't,...

Re: Hi, all. A brief introduction.

Only sleeping for 5 or 6 hours for that length of time is not working. I would try to find either another sleep dr. or talk to my primary care dr. and obtain a new prescription for exactly the machine you want......then try to get your insurance to cover it on the basis that you failed with the mac...

Re: Hi, all. A brief introduction.

Given that you posted at 2:48 AM, I can see the problem! lol Have you discussed your lack of sleep and daytime sleepiness with your doc; and (more importantly) told him of your dissatisfaction? Maybe he needs to be gently reminded who the customer is here. If that little nudge fails, there ARE othe...

Hi, all. A brief introduction.

I just joined this forum and wanted to say hello. I was diagnosed with severe complex OSA in November of 2007 and have been on CPAP for 15 months now. I've been compliant since day one. Lucky me, it didn't take long to get used to wearing a mask and using the machine. I simply told myself it was a m...
