Re: Quattro FF - first nite problems
I've had the flu for five days now and have a horrible headache during the whole time as well as all the congestion that comes with it. I used the Pilairo, since it's the only one I have. I don't know how the air went thru but somehow it did since my AHI was below .5 as usual. That's amazing to me. ...

Re: ear problems and cpap
I've had itchy ear canals for years, even before cpap. The doctor prescribed Clobetasol Propionate, a steroid cream, I believe. I put a dab on the end of a Q-tip and dab the ear canal. The stuff is wonderful--stops the itch right away.

Your wording was perfect. It was my apnea history too. I feel bad about waiting so long to get it checked out too.

Re: Pilairo!
Are you sure it's just not too tight? That dern strap can lead people to think the mask should be tight, which is totally not the case. It isn't hard to stretch it out a little and then it holds steady, unlike the deluxe-style chinstrap, which, I think, keeps stretching out, though I love that chins...

Re: Full face mask a disadvantage?
I wear a foam collar all night also. It's the only way I can keep my mouth shut, but plus I have to wear a chinstrap too, and plus a mouthpiece! If I don't use strap and collar, more often than not I wake up having had my mouth drop open for a percentage of the night. This ALWAYS leads to a next bad...

Me too. I don't get that at all.chunkyfrog wrote:If I fall asleep for as little as ten minutes without the mask, I feel like the reason dog walkers carry plastic bags.

Re: Caution about F&P Pilairo silicone tearing-
I should have also mentioned that since I still can't seem to control "rainout" consistently using my Series 60 heated tube/humidifier combo, I frequently change pillows once during the night since I don't like that wet pillow feeling. I think I'm beyond figuring out rainout. I've tried and I've tri...

I must have got a good batch. I've been rotating 3 of them for exactly 4 months now, and they are all still good.

Pachelbel's Canon is the most famous piece of music by German Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1B_1VDyQU0&feature=youtu.be Excellent video. Now for a test of your cultural knowledge... How many of you can name the title and composer of the music played during that ...

Re: new dental appliance seems to work in getting my ahi below 5
I recently tried with just sleeping with the cpap and...no good. AHI was over 1 and I felt it too. So I know I have to use the OA/cpap combo and am happy to do so, as well as grateful. It's the difference between night and day for me. And you're right..."desperation" is the key word. It all depends ...

Re: new dental appliance seems to work in getting my ahi below 5
In order to keep my mouth shut, I use the Somnodent. In glancing at the other OAs I thought I had noticed that the Somnodent was the only one that would allow a lip seal. And since I use a nasal mask, that was important. But in truth, I had to get my dentist to burr it down and decrease the vertical...
