That is a good point. For a while I was taking long acting opiate pain meds (before and after spine surgery) and that seemed to aggravate the night sweats even more.

Re: How severe is sever sleep apnea?

My sleep test showed AHI of 91 and the low SaO2 was 75%. And it took me 7 years to finally come around to agreeing to get tested and get a machine. I knew I had OSA just was in denial about how serious it was. Anyway, a year into it I am sleeping much better. My average AHI is around 1.7 and I'm not...

Re: Apnea and night sweats

What I'd like to know is how common night sweats are with people that have apnea. I knew I had sleep apnea years before I finally got the machine and started using it. And I would get very severe night sweats. I'm talking about waking up 3 or 4 times a night (as I would normally do, due to the OSA)...

Re: Compliance VIC - check code 9C

Did you by any chance take the machine in with you on the July 7 date with DME? Wonder if they did a reset of therapy session on that date? Reset to zero for some reason??? VIC code I think is just a special code for validating that the number of hours reported is really what is reported. Oh ok... ...

Best way to dry tubing after washing?

I wash my mask every fews or so and let it dry disassembled during the day so it's ready that night. The sleep lab recommended I rinse the tubing every so often as well. Luckily I waited until I got an extra tube before doing this. After I washed it - by running the shower through it - no soap just ...

Re: auto CPAP time at pressure graph - Help!

I'll also take the time to point out thatyou spent a bit over 50% of the time AT or BELOW 10cm of pressure since the graph crosses the 50% line just before hitting 10cm. So 10cm is close to your median pressure or your 50% pressure. Note that median is not the same as average. Today's math lesson i...

Re: auto CPAP time at pressure graph - Help!

What software generated that graph? EncoreViewer 2.0? What function generated it? I viewed all my detailed graphs as well as a summary and couldn't get that graph to show up. EncoreViewer 2.0. I just ran a report for a specific date range (the past year for this particular report) and it gives this...

Yes! Especially if your wife cooks Thai food all the time. Tastes great going down but all that garlic and chiles and spices is pretty noxious in full face mask. I'm with you, buddy!

Compliance VIC - check code 9C

This question, even the sleep lab lady at Kaiser could not answer for me. On my REMstar Auto A-Flex machine, under the info screen there is an option called "Compliance VIC". When you go into that screen there is a display there for starting date, days >4 and check code. Mine reads: Start day: 7/7/2...

Re: new user would like to know more about stats

soldamerican, What time zone do you live in? I suspect that part of the problem may be caused by sleeping past noon GMT on a regular basis combined with some irregular bedtimes. Sleeping past noon GMT causes the current night's data to be split over two LCD days. And my guess is that's where the pr...

auto CPAP time at pressure graph - Help!

I'm getting better at analyzing the data from EncoreViewer (and SleepyHead, etc.) but still puzzled about the "Auto CPAP Time at pressure" graph given at the end of the report. I'm especially confused because the y-axis seems to have two labels: Cumulative Hours of Usage and Percent of Time. So here...

Re: new user would like to know more about stats

What you wrote makes a lot of sense. I just installed Encore Pro and compared the graphs with EncoreViewer. It seems that Pro doesn't adjust for my local timezone but rather keeps the weird times... (GMT?) I live on the west coast and in the Pacific Time Zone (GMT - 8:00) and we're currently in dayl...

How long does your (full face) mask last?

When I had insurance they would replace my mask and headgear once every three months. Knowing that I would soon lose my coverage I stocked up, getting a new one as often as they allowed. But I kept using my mask longer than the 3 months. Now I've been using the same one for almost 8 months and it do...

Burping!

I've been sleeping with my CPAP machine for about a year now. Getting the best sleep I've gotten in years. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this as well. I usually wake up at least one time during the night. I'll usually sit up, remove the mask for a moment to get some fresh air or a drink. B...

Re: new user would like to know more about stats

I am still confused by the results my machine reads. I have a REMstar Auto A-Flex. A few months ago when I discovered how to look at the limited stats the machine gives I would check it religiously every morning. I wanted that "golden" display of 7 and 30 for the "days>4". It seemed to me though tha...
