Re: Resmed brand filters...
after searching, i don't believe resmed makes filters. i don't believe resmed sells a separate filter. cpap, com sells a filter but doesn't say it is resmed brand. I couldn't find the part number that was mentioned anywhere. i do believe that someone sells the cut filters in bulk and dme's buy and re...

Re: new to everything
because something can make apnea worse, doesn't mean it will make it worse. I'm on cymbalta 60mg and my ahi is in single digits, usually 1 or 2. different drugs affect different people very differently. This is my experience. Others may be different. Good luck.

Re: new to everything
My personal opinion is get on a medication for the anxiety first. There's a learning curve full of frustrations getting the machine and mask and getting used to it all. It could worsen your anxiety. Get it under control first. Then after you have everything working smooth you can revisit the drug th...

Re: (New user) Better to get 3 hours of APAP sleep & wake up or take off mask & go back to bed?
I understand the theory about not having the mask too tight. it's a good theory if you can do it. I've tried many masks. the only one that has worked for me is the quattro fx. i have the right size and i tighten it about as tight as it goes. when my head and face are shaved, i get zero leaks. as it ...

Re: rainout and no water chamber
to compare your story to a car ride. you would take all the tires off your car, put it on jack stands and then tell us you took it on a trip and wonder how it drove without wheels. if you think this sounds dumb, read above about the guy that thinks he used his cpap without the water chamber. as the ...

Re: Doctor percribed a med but im AFRAID to take it.
You said everything except why the doctor prescribed this and why something less restricted wouldn't help. If you don't trust your doctor enough to take the medicine he prescribes for you or ask him about it, you need to find a new doctor that you do trust. I've taken ambien for my last couple sleep...

Re: ....Sleep Apnea candidate, but odd symptoms
see a pulmonologist that specializes in sleep apnea for best results. too often the ent talks people into surgeries that might or might not work and in the end you get the cpap anyways.

If your doctor doesn't agree with your self diagnosis and treatment plan, it does not mean he doesn't take you seriously. If you have a problem with any doctor, you need to find another doctor.

Re: Any consensus on best FFM mask?
This question comes up frequently, always worded a little differently. The fact is, every person here has or is going thru the process of trying masks until they find the perfect mask for them. With time and trial you will find yours. Nobody can help you with their favorite because i know how my res...

Are oral appliances worth the thousands of dollars?
If you have "thousands of dollars" laying around to use on something that probably won't work, then it may be worth it to you. If you're like most people that would have to borrow the money it wouldn't be worth it.
