It's a nasal mask. It covers my whole nose.

Having too much humidity and/or ramp (lower starting pressure) settings too low or for too long can contribute to that.

If you know what your settings are, please list them so we may give you some suggestions.

There is a five minute ramp and the humidity setting is on 2.

What kind of nasal mask what is the name of it?

How long have you been on cpap?

Is this the first mask you tried?

Have you tried to wear this mask while sitting and watchig tv to try and get used to it?

What pressure is your machine set to?

I felt claustrophobic when I first tried on a mask and I immediately yanked it off and told the RT that I'll try it by myself. I don't have a problem with a full face mask now. I think you can get used to it, in time. Hang in there, you can do it too.

back2good - it might seem like people are nosey and pushy asking about the details about your mask, but they're all extremely helpful people and want to assist you.

Your mask is really THE most important item in your XPAP gear as it's what you wear strapped to your face each night and a bunch of experienced posters here would have used the same mask as you, so can offer lots of advice and suggestions.

The more info you can give the better we can help you. Btw, you can add your mask as well as your machine to your signature, and actually - the text version is much more helpful than the pics as many machines/masks appear the same but they're not.

Hang in there - it may just take a little time and tweaking to sleep comfortably with XPAP.

Cheers,
xena

5 minute ramp at what pressure setting....what pressure does it start out at and where does it go to?
Do you use EPR?

Are you feeling like you are suffocating when you put the mask on and the machine starts?
