Re: New Mask Recommendation - Sore Teeth
I am using the Resmed softgel nasal mask and have the same problem. I have adjusted it every way possible. If I wear it less than 5 hours it seems to be ok. Any longer and my top front teeth hurt. I have tried some full face masks and have had no luck. This is the first mask that I have had some suc...

Re: Opinions on gel cushion nasal masks?
Elle...I forgot to answer you. I always slept all night before using a mask. Now I find myself waking up after 3 or 4 hours with either leaks or it gets uncomfortable. I don't want to disturb my sleep too much so I just take it off and go back to sleep. Last night I took it off for a few minutes and...

Re: Opinions on gel cushion nasal masks?
Thanks everyone for your opinions. Last night I woke up after just an hour and the mask was bothering me. Usually I would take it off and go back to sleep. Last night I got up and got a drink and got myself awake enough to put it back on. To my surprise I slept 6 more hours. I have had decent succes...

Opinions on gel cushion nasal masks?
I am a 6 month user so I'm still pretty new to this. A little history...I started with a Resmed Mirage Quattro full face mask and could not get the leaks to stop. Then I went to the same mask in a smaller size. The only way I could get the leaks to stop was to put it so tight it hurt my cheek bones....

Re: Brand new mask, not even on the market yet
I am only about 6 months into this myself but I found that if I have the humidifier heat turned on (even on the lowest setting) I feel like I am suffocating. I leave my heater off and just get a room temperature humidity. I seems much easier to breathe. I am still struggling but as time has gone on ...

Re: Information needed regarding gel masks
Which one did you end up keeping? I struggled with full face masks for a few months and went to the softgel nasal mask. I am able to use it between 3-5 hours per night but then I end up taking it off because of leaks. I like the idea that the micro is lighter weight. Did you find that it sealed any ...

Re: Warm air is uncomfortable...
My machine has settings from 1-5. 1 being the coolest and 5 being the warmest. I found 1 to be just right. I get humidity but the air doesn't feel warm and suffocating. Check the manual and see. It may have similar settings.

Re: I hate doing this.....
I use Resmed's zippered tubing cover. It is a nylon type material. I bought it because my bed has wood sides and the ribs on the tubing would drag on the edge of the wood. This solved that problem plus it added some weight to the tubing which helps it lay in place better instead of wanting to go bac...

Machine settings different for nasal mask vs full face?
I have been really struggling with my full face mask. I have tried liners and the padacheek strap and still no luck. I am going to try a nasal mask from the CPAP library trial. Does anyone know if my machine has to be set differently? I know I cannot change the settings myself but I am just curious ...

Re: Waking up with humidifier full??
Yes Janknitz. My unit has a separate heat button that must be turned on for humidity. It also shows on the display when the heat is on and it only comes on when the heat button is pressed.

Re: After three months still can't sleep comfortably
Are you having trouble getting comfortable so your mask doesn't leak? I am very new to this but that is the problem I was having with a very similar mask. Someone on here advised me to go to padacheek.com and try a mask liner and anti leak strap. I bought both and tried them for the first time last ...

Re: Waking up with humidifier full??
I am new to this but on my machine even though you set a level on the humidifier you still have to turn it on each night. If I forget to turn mine on the water level doesn't change even though it remembers the humidity setting.

Re: Desparate for a good night's sleep (leaky mask)
Received my Padacheek anti leak strap and mask liner today. I put them on and tested them and didn't seem to have any leaks. I am hoping it works tonight! Thanks again to all for the advice.

Desparate for a good night's sleep (leaky mask)
I found out I have severe complex sleep apnea and got my machine 3 weeks ago. I have been miserable ever since. My first mask (medium Mirage Quattro) was too big so they changed it to a small but I still can't get it to quit leaking. A few times I have been able to get it to seal only to have it lea...
