Where do you wear your chin strap.

NanWilson requested a poll to get an idea whether people who use a chin strap wear it over or under their headgear. So here you go NanWilson. Super easy to create a poll...I had never done it before.
There is a tab for poll creation below the Save...Preview....Submit boxes on lower left.

I voted "under my headgear"... since that's usually the case.

But I do have one exception. When I wear my Bella, I wear it over. My chin strap covers my ears, so that's the only config that's workable.

I wear it under my mask when I use a chin strap. Right now I'm taping.

Pugsy..you are the bomb, thank you. I guess I had only one cup of coffee in me when I took a look on how to set it up ya know coffee makes the old lady smarter THANK YOU !!!!!

I have a deluxe chin strap I bought last year, and I have a papcap-plus size small/medium ( never used) which I would like to swap for another deluxe or an adjustable Ruby Puresom...anyone interested. I'm going to try using my new Aloha with a chin strap, I just hate adding more "stuff" to my head, but I see so many of you have just bitten the bullet and use a chin strap. Believe me, if a chinstrap doesn't work I will be swapping my Aloha for another Hybrid, so far(3 nights) the Aloha just isn't "it".
Thanks again Pugsy, you are the best.
Cheers
Nan

I did not answer the above poll b/c there are some kind of masks that I wear over the mask's straps and others that I wear under.

Both of the following work great with my Resmed Mirage SoftGell nasal mask, and improved my treatment alot.

This Respironics Premium I wear OVER the mask:

(The fabric is heavy and rough)

This Topaz (and probably the Puresom Ruby) I wear UNDER the mask's straps:

(B/c it's very smooth fabric)

Generally, I put on the chin strap first, thus under the mask strap. But I have wondered if there was an alternative use: to go over the FFM that I tried a short while, and see IF the mask will stay on the face. No success, hence I stick with my SleepWeaver, with Comfortlite2 as rare backup mask.

I have always worn it under the mask, because I thought that putting it over the mask could make the mask move around, and make it more difficult to quick a quick mask placement adjustment during the night. But when I first got my setup, the chinstrap said to place it over the mask. I have not tried it, though.

I don't always use the chin strap, but when I do it is always under.

I didn't think about those people who do both...over and under.. I would add that option if I could but I don't see a way to edit the poll now. Am I just missing it or is editing not allowed once there have been votes?

I just wear it to bed.

I have the Puresom ruby, it goes on first and stays on, that way there is no fumbling around if i have to get up through the night or in the morning to get the alarm clock. I keep my alarm clock across the room so i have to get out of bed and go turn it off, there is no snooze button in my world, been doing this for the last 30 years.

I think we're are okay Pugsy, so far its just about all "under". Don't fret about it, I read in the users instructions for both ways to wear their chinstrap, thats what got me confused.......sometimes its pretty easy to confuse an old lady with osa

Thought about wearing it over my mask, but I already get show-and-tell mask marks for most of the morning and figured the chinstrap would only make it worse if it was putting more pressure on my mask, then skin.

Cheers,
xena

So far I am the only one that voted over the headgear. I started out wearing it under.
Then I read on here that it could be worn over. That stopped my leaks. I can get the pillows in just the right position and they stay there.

What chin strap and headgear? With the Bella Loops over my ears and the cervical collar around my neck, I almost forget I have OSA. Love it!

I thought about it but your only choice would have been the list several popular chinstraps and ask which one the voter use.
