Re: adjusting sleep weaver advance cloth mask

Hi - I couldn't get the Advance to work either, but the Elan is just right. A couple tricks - that would probably apply to all cloth masks: - the straps have to be LOOSE! I pull my mask on and off over my head. I don't "unstrap" the mask to put it on. (Shows you how loose it is) - wash your face bef...

Re: My new approach - feedback requested

I listen to audiobooks as I'm falling asleep. If you get a subscription at audible.com they can be very reasonably priced. The narrator reading the words lulls me to sleep. And it helps me get lost in the story so that I don't "think" too much. I've been on trazadone since before cpap. I forgot to t...

Re: Eeegads Elan

My first elan got very stretched out around the nose in about 2.5 - 3 months. Has it been out that long? I got it the first day it was available from cpap.com. I bought my sister one for her to try but she didn't like it. So, when I couldn't stand the leaks anymore I switched to the new mask. PERFEC...

Re: Effectiveness of CPAP?

Here's an update. I called my CPAP supplier today and explained that I'm having difficulty getting comfortable with the machine. The person I spoke with happens to be the boss of the tech who set me up with the machine. He suggested that I try meditation; that the shortness of breath could be due t...

Re: Is it possible....

Lorraine, I am very sympathetic to your situation. But I don't think you're giving CPAP a fair chance. You have to commit to treatment, at least for a little while. Has anyone explained that daytime fatigue is only one symptom? I don't remember if you told us your desat rate. But if your o2 falls be...

Re: Sleepweaver featherweight tube available

Thanks for the offer. I already have a spare. I didn't even use the feather light tube at the beginning. I think you don't really need it unless you route over your head. But I do use it now, just because it's smaller up against my pillow.

Re: Mask Rebellion?

Have you tried any pillow or nasal masks? I was SURE that I wouldn't be able to use a nasal mask because I'm a life-long mouth-breather, but I found out it's easy to keep my mouth closed when air gets forced thru my nose (very narrow).

Re: Cpap Brain Fog??

Daisy - welcome to the club! You have a great sense of humor and that will definitely help the adjustment process. I, too, felt more tired after I started CPAP. Just hang in there. Now, if it goes past a month or six weeks then I would talk to your doctor because your pressure might need to be adjus...

I watched the video for the ihatecpap device and it made my jaw hurt just watching! I wonder what dentists think of it.

Morning headaches were the first thing that went away after I started CPAP. I hope they find the cause of yours.

Re: Sleepweaver Elan question

Everybody's nose is different, but let me share what has worked for me. The bridge of my nose is VERY narrow. So, I find the mask leaks less if I pull the mask down towards the tip of my nose. Washing the mask and my face are key. I use lubricating eye ointment (otc) so that my eyes don't dry out. I...

Re: Beware of people in the "THE GREAT PILLOW EXCHANGE" thread

I guess my frustration isn't with the CONTENT of this thread. I guess I just don't understand why the OP would post a rant and not give a name. What's the purpose of posting the rant in the first place? Why not post "looking for xxx" as another poster suggested. Regarding the CONTENT of this thread,...
