Re: Weight loss advice!?! - join in the fun

I had bariatric surgery back in Dec, and after the recovery period I was told to eat in a way that turned into essentially a Paleo diet. The nutritionist told me to always start my meals with protein in large quantities, and then to have good veggies as sides. If I really wanted I could have a small...

Re: Oxygen

I hate to complain, but after all these years I am still struggling with cpap..I can only tolerate four hours of cpap no matter what...Not only do I have sleep apnea, but emphysema too. I was wondering if there is such a thing as oxygen cpap instead of air..Here in Ohio right now we are in a heat w...

Re: New Quattro Air FFM

I have gotten around most of the minor problems I have with the Air, but there is one problem left that has me considering returning the mask. I mostly breath through my mouth while sleeping due to sinus issues. With my Forma my mouth only dries out when the humidifier runs out of water (which is of...

Re: New Quattro Air FFM

I love my 7600 V2, but my wife hates the thing. The exhaust port is the loudest of any mask I have worn. I wish she did not hate is so much because it has been the best fitting, lowest leak mask that I have ever tried with my facial hair. The whole mask is also somewhat flexible, so it maintains bet...

Re: Engineer, and I'm curious if I can help

One of the main problems people with FFM complain about is jaw drop causing leaks or other therapy issues. A few companies like F&P and Hans Rudolph have tried to address this by extending the chin piece to seal lower on the face than the indent between the lips and chin, but that has only been part...

Re: ASV "low pressure support" error and alarm

Thanks for the advice John, but I am way ahead of you this one time . Using the pad-a-cheek liner for the Forma already, and I have one I need to modify for the Air until they come out with a custom fit one. I am hoping it makes the leak line even better on the Air. Assuming I can get this other iss...

ASV "low pressure support" error and alarm

I know there are a few other ASV users on here, so I am hoping someone can lend me a hand. Using my F&P Forma mask I have never had an alarm on my ASV, but when I swapped to trying out the new Quattro Air I get an alarm that wakes me up every half hour or so. The front panel on the PR ASV (seen in m...

Re: Excited about the Quattro Air mask

My Quattro Air arrives today, so I will be able to give some news on it Monday.

Up until now I have used the F&P masks mentioned above (431, 432, Forma). The Forma is a great mask, and I have had little leaking issues with it.

I ordered mine today, and they threw in the return insurance for free.

Once I have tried it out I will update with a short review.

Re: Losing weight lowers the air pressure number??

I have lost a little over 50 lbs in the last 6 months due to surgery. My 90% pressure using ASV has dropped by about 1.3 PSI. Even if I hit my goal weight I will probably never be able to sleep without an ASV attached to my face. Not a big deal to me, but then I adjusted to therapy with hardly any i...

Re: Sleep Apnea and Memory

Good morning everyone. On and off for a very long time, I would randomly pick folks to review their profile and noticed that many of you are very well educated and have high level positions. My assumption that though you have sleep apnea, it hasn't affected your memory. When I look at these profile...

Re: Solution to air /mask leakage is finally here

If you like the remzzzz, then try the Pad-A-Cheek stuff. They are much better made, last for months, and do a better job. At least that is my, and many others, opinion.

Re: How do you fight unfair hospital bills in the US?

I am also wondering why you were charged the $200 co-pay upfront. A colonoscopy is a preventative healthcare measure, and Obamacare made those a $0 cost visit. I know that all fees were waived when I had mine done back in 2012. If this procedure goes all the way back to 2011 then ignore what I menti...

Re: nose bridge rubbing relief

I use a small drop of antibacterial cream covered with some silken medical tape. The tape is thin enough that it does not seem to affect my mask seal, and the cream helps with both healing and as a lubricant to prevent further irritation. Your mileage may vary, but it has worked for me.
