Post by Keremer2 » Sun Jan 06, 2013 10:59 am

I need some help I have been using the swift xf for her for over a year now. But now I have been getting sores on my nose where the mask goes into my nose any ideas how to stop this?

Lanolin helps. Use a q-tip and put a little bit on the outside and inside rim of your nose before putting your mask on. I'm new to nasal pillows and this has helped me greatly. You can find it at any drugstore of grocery store down the baby isle. Nursing mothers use this. If you have a sore you can also put it on multiple times a day to help the sore heal. Mine went away in a day. Hope this helps.

Lansinoh purified lanolin works wonders. Find it in the baby/nursing section.

The nasal pillows shouldn't be making sores especially after using them for a year.
Maybe wrong size...maybe too tight....maybe need a new one. When was the last time you replaced the nasal pillow.

Lansinoh ointment would be the thing to use to help it heal and help prevent further sores but you also need to look at what is causing them. It shouldn't be happening in the first place.

K-Y works, too. It has the advantages of being non-greasy, washes away with water, odorless and cheaper. A VERY thin layer is all that's necessary.

Perhaps you need a larger size pillow. I also alternate between pillows and a nasal mask. A break is as good as a holiday.
