I get a zero reading more often than not. Its just rubbish. Even a person without sleep apnea wont get a zero.

Re: Why Sleep Apnea Victims Cannot Sleep On Their Backs?
I can never get to sleep while on my back. I guess its the increase in pressure that keeps me awake. however if I roll onto my back while asleep i seem to be ok.(so I am told) I also have some pain issues which limit staying in one position.

Perhaps you need a larger size pillow. I also alternate between pillows and a nasal mask. A break is as good as a holiday.

Re: New - confused ????
There are many people who can not cope with Cpap but I am sure you can do it. I have been at it for 18 months now and its getting better all the time. Try new masks, nose protectors, sleeping positions, gel in the nose, sprays for the nose, learn to keep your mouth shut, loose straps, tight straps,it goes ...

I also use the back connection. My only problem is the back strap,it always rides up to the top of my head requiring many adjustments.
I am still trying to decide if I like the medium or the large pillow size, isnt that stupid.

Re: tube rainout!
I dont usually have a problem with nasal pillows. I can only repeat a few tips .
Put the machine down on the floor, its safer there anyway in case you pull on the tube in your sleep.
Only put enough water for the night in the tank.
Use the auto setting for the humidity setting.
Good luck.

Re: Burning smell after taking mask off???
Since so many people smell the same thing its clear that its not in our head.chunkyfrog wrote:I just did a quick search on nasal hallucinations, or phantosmia.
There was mention of smoky smell, along with possible causes.
A visit with a neurologist might be a good idea.

I took the filter out and cleaned it. It is now white again. I guess it was dirt.
