Re: Nursing Home and CPAP Catch 22
The primary issue is the new requirement that CPAP supplies must be purchased through DME that won area contract. In my case, all the DMEs are in another state. You cannot purchase any CPAP supplies from a DME that does not have the current contract and have it covered by Medicare. This Medicare rul...

Re: HELP. My SD card has permanently LOCKED
The tab itself is nothing more than a piece of plastic. It is not connected to anything in the card. The SD reader senses if the tab is present to determine if the write mode is enabled or not. To enable the write mode, place a piece of adhesive tape over the area where the tab was. Over the HALF t...

SD vs SDHC
Having trouble finding out what SD card to buy to replace my ResMed SD card. An old standard SD card stores a maximum of 2GB. The SDHC allows 4GB up to 64GB (maybe 128GB). Researching SD cards, the newer formats are not compatible with devices that use the older format. My original ResMed SD card I ...

Re: HELP. My SD card has permanently LOCKED
Only way to fix this is by purchasing a new SD card unfortunately. I don't know if there is a way to transfer data from one card to another. I would think it is easy to copy from SD Card to another. The whole idea of SD cards is provide portable way of transferring data between devices (cameras, sm...

Re: Love RespCare Hybrid but VPAP doesn't???
... with my Wisp mask and older model masks from previous years I do not have leaks being reported on this machine, and get good AHI reports but I can't tolerate the dry mouth anymore and have run the whole gamut of chinstraps, gels, headbands and even taping...Nate I have been using Airfit F10 for...

HELP. My SD card has permanently LOCKED
Checking my data for first time in months. When I LOCKED the SD Card to insert into computer, it worked just fine. I downloaded data to my computer software. Ejected it from computer. But when I tried to UNLOCK it to put it back in my VPAP, the little slide on the side that LOCKS/UNLOCKS the SD card...

14 months with water distiller
I bought the H2O Labs counteract distiller 14 months ago. I use distilled water for my VPAP, room humidifier, and drinking. My water distiller is still working great. No residue as I have faithfully cleaned it after each use. Occasionally I use anhydrous citric acid as a soak if it looks like someth...

Re: S9 VPAP Software to Customize the Custom Reminders
The only reminders I know about is when to reorder supplies for your VPAP. Doesn't have anything to do with any software to analyze sleep data.

Re: Help! Taking my mask off EVERY night!!!
My brother has severe sleep apnea. He just started CPAP and takes his mask off within first hour of sleep. At his sleep study he was extremely active in bed, violent arm and leg movements, flogging around, and yelling in his sleep. Sleep center said it was the worst they had ever seen. The violent n...

Re: No longer running out of water
I live in Mississippi and run out of water every night about 4 AM. My room humidity in the winter with central heating is below 25%. I use FF mask what rarely leaks. My BiLevel pressure settings are 22/18. I suspect my water loss is primarily due to high volume of air requiring more water to maintai...

Re: OT: Shingles vaccine hoopla
Just checked my Medicare Part D plan. AARP Medicare Rx Preferred Plan through United Healthcare. Zostavax is tier 4 drug and requires Prior Authorization. So I can't just go into a participating pharmacy and get vaccinated. I must get prior authorization for it to be covered at all or pay for entire...

Re: OT: Shingles vaccine hoopla
However, I do know the Shingles vaccine is a one-time shot....It's sole purpose is to boost the antibody response that has waned over the many years since one was originally infected. It's a reminder for your immune system, if you will. It is INTENDED to be a one time shot but every site I have rea...

New GlaxoSmithKline zoster vaccine 97.5% effective
Dec 2014 GlaxoSmithKline announced results of Phase III clinical trials. Their new vaccine had 97.5% effectiveness. Not available yet but I would get that vaccination tomorrow with twice the effectiveness of Zostavax.

Re: OT: Shingles vaccine hoopla
Based on your logic, I suppose that you never had you children vaccinated for measles either. I'm guessing that you don't get the flu vaccine yearly either. Don't know what logic you are applying to make that assumption. I never had children. I get my flu vaccine every November. Flu vaccine is FREE...

Re: OT: Shingles vaccine hoopla
Another problem (which probably reason for low effectiveness) is that the Merck vaccine only includes certain strains of the zoster virus. There are documented "wild strains" where people got shingles after vaccination because the vaccination doesn't include all known strains. Just like flu vaccine....
