F&P Icon Series support Now in SleepyHead 0.9.2-2 for Mac

Post by KrisasMan » Sat Mar 03, 2012 5:28 pm

I just found a post buried in another topic that noted SleepyHead 0.9.2-2 for Mac now supports the F&P Icon series. I can verify it works with my Icon Auto and provides the same stats as the InfoSmart software. SleepyHead provides the ability to zoom in to see details and more fine calculations as well. SleepyHead is also able to read all detailed data on the card (for me that goes back to my first day Dec 9, 2011) instead of only the last 7 days InfoSmart will display. Much better than the 'factory' software for sure!

I think JediMark and team plan to add flow data so SleepyHead can try to find events not caught by the CPAP as well. For now it is at least as good as the paid stuff and you don't run the risk of viruses by downloading from 'other sources'.

Does SH not currently display flow data for the Icon? If it does, then I think it will also do its own analysis. You need to check File>Preferneces>CPAP tab>"Custom User Event Flagging". IIRC, it does its calculations when you import the data, so checking the box may not flag events on already imported data.

Do you know if the Windows or Linux versions of SH currently support the F&P Icon?

From the latest post on this Topic JediMark indicates he has it figured out but not yet implemented.

For now we have Event Flags, AHI, Pressure, Leak and Flow Limitations. Again, this is all that F&P provides in their paid InfoSmart software and they only give you a PDF for the last 7 days, no zoom in or short segment AHI calculations etc. Way to go JediMark!!

If any of the commercial software was designed to help the individual hosehead analyze CPAP data, the programmers obviously did it without input from actual users. Mark OTOH, is one of us and has actively solicited input from other users. The other applications meant for end users are dumbed down and claustrophobically limited, written with the assumption that we're too stupid to manage our own therapy and will only be confused by a useful data viewer. And the rest of the aps are meant for DMEs and sleep clinics who mostly track compliance data. If these folks use home efficacy data at all, I think it's usually to recommend another sleep study. Nothing else out there, except maybe PR1-specific Onkor, was really made to do what we do. Hence for our purposes, SleepyHead blows the doors off the competition.

Hi there..

I forgot it was in that last mac build.. Basic functionality works quite well.. Unfortunately the flow data is stored by the Icon rather stupidly, and I can only access it for certain sessions, so I disabled that bit for the build until I figure out the reason behind this madness.

I have to get back into "code mode" and release a windows build, as the functionality is there.

Still having a bit of a break, it's a little hard to code in my current frame of mind.. I am tinkering here and there.

I will let you all know when I make some more progress with the F&P stuff..

I completely understand the perfectionist view, it isn't quite where you want it. Just remember to put your time where it is most important and know that you have beat the manufacturer, the only other game out there!

Thank you for supporting Mac too, Boot Camp was getting tiring for pulling data!
