Ear pain & dizziness

Post by OrangeLily » Sun Apr 01, 2012 3:56 pm

I've been using my machine for about a month now. I didn't like the full face quatro mask, so I switched to the liberty. Its OK, not perfect, but better than the quatro. I have been having ear pain (mostly the left ear) and also severe dizziness in the morning upon waking. No headaches thank goodness. Has anyone else had this problem & what can I do about it? I'll be calling the sleep doc office tomorrow, but not sure when they can get me in. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Hello & Welcome, OrangeLily! Glad you found this forum—SO much useful info and everyone here is so willing to help!
You're lucky to have found this forum as you begin CPAP—took me almost year before I found this place and, with the help of folks here, got my CPAP therapy working as it should. It does take time to get everything tweaked and working at its best, so patience is key as one begins CPAP.

No ideas about your ear pain an dizziness--sounds like you're doing the best thing, calling your doc. Hoping you get relief soon!

Probably sinus issues.
Play with your humidifier some sinuses need more or less humidity.
Also try and do nasal rinses in the evening to clean up any issues in there.

I have all the time dizziness before CPAP and after CPAP if I am sleepy.
For me dizziness is very much related to having enough sleep. After CPAP my concerns are decreasing however today I am sleepy again cos I fell asleep 1 hour without CPAP.
