Re: Cost of dental appliances

Google provides me with a bewildering variety of dental appliances. But I can't find a single page that will give me even an estimate or range of what they cost. All I know is that, according to my sleep doctor, they are not covered by insurance. I suspect I would be a good candidate, considering t...

Re: oral surgeon suggests major OSA surgery

I would recommend a clear conversation with the surgeon regarding what they are expecting and how they define 'success'. I have a friend who is an oral surgeon and is brought in on cases involving OSA and he says they define 'success' as a 50% decrease in AHI but they often don't get it. Unless you...

Re: please help!! no solutions for CSA/OSA

I've tried everything and nothing seems to work for my CSA/OSA except for prednisone and rarely bipap/asv. hopefully the resmed ASV will finally cure me but I've lost hope of ever being normal again I'm afraid I've been permanently brain damaged from csa/osa. I have never regained my health and thi...

Re: oral surgeon suggests major OSA surgery

The oral surgeon feels very confident that maxilomandibular advancement (MMA, bilateral advancement) would cure my sleep apnea. Note that several of the people posting are referring to UPPP not MMA. These are very different surgeries and UPPPs are know for their failure rate and permanent bad side ...

....of course with little ones if they dont get good sleep then they struggle to learn and have behavior issues because they are tired all the time... True with adults also. It is too bad that so many children's doctors overlook this. ...but in the meantime, Ive got to figure out how to fix the cur...

Re: O2 sat test question

You need to use the software with the daily reports, you need to see the daily leak rates not just the large leaks and you AHI numbers. If the leak rate is too high the numbers data will be faulty. also your pressure range need to be closer a 4cm pange is better starting 1 cm under your 95% number....

I bet that idiot doc's skull is too thick.

Are you using the software and checking your data on a regular basis? If so, what does it show? If not using the software, you need to get started. Know how?

BTW, what are your pressure settings?

Re: Howdy from Europe: a new victim :-(

My wife and I explored how to go and live in the USA as to escape the horrors of (Western-)Europe, the homeland that has been raped grossly ever since we were born there, but it seems the USA doesn't want people with money, no debts, no criminal records, and university degrees in economics to migra...

Re: 5YO with CPAP-Itching and masks comes off during sleep

That is a common problem even with adults and I will let others who have raised kids make some suggestions. Have you looked into why he has sleep apnea? Does he have central or obstructive apnea? Depending on the cause of his apnea I would have a consultation first with a pediatric ENT and, dependin...

Been using it for... 5 nights now I believe. I feel SO much relief already!! It's so amazing! You all have to find a way to stick with your...
