ResMed AirSense 10 Filter Change Frequency

I searched this topic and found no information for this subject.

Currently I am changing these "little" filters because they look dirty after a month's use. I see resmed suggests 6 months as a frequency change interval, and my DME suggest 3 months.

I am interested in what others think and do with this filter frequency change on this machine ?

Actually ResMed suggests 6 months or when they look dirty or in the words of the manual "replace it more often if there are any holes or blockages by dirt".... or my thoughts...if it looks dirty.

I live out in the country where it is dusty a lot and in an old 60 year old farmhouse so dust is everywhere and I change the filter about once a month because it just looks yucky....grayish dark and yucky.
I have a friend who lives in town in a newer house and his filter doesn't get yucky looking for at least six months or so.
So it depends on your own air quality and where you live.

I change mine when they look dirty. I don't go by months of use.

Apparently, Resmed tests their filters in a nice, clean lab.
Either that, or they are hoping you will wreck your machine by clogging it up.

i change it when i think of it.

or whenever someone on the forum asks and that reminds me.

in other words, i don't adhere to any schedule.

The VA suggests changing monthly, but they cost so little, I change them every 2 weeks, sometimes more often.

My AirSense 10 reminds me on a monthly basis to replace the filter. A message shows up on the display. I don't know if this is the factory default, or if it was manually programmed by the supplier that I bought the machine from.

Monthly seems about right to me. When I hold the old and new filters side-by-side to compare, the old one is noticeably dirty.

I'm using the ResMed OEM hypoallergenic filters as I have dust and pollen allergies. Seems to work fine.

Setting these reminders can be done in clinical mode. When your DME setup your machine, they set it to generate these reminders to buy stuff from them.

I keep a notebook for my data each day.
There are 21 lines per page, so I swap out my pillows and filter when I start a new page.
If my leak rate is nasty, I change to a clean headgear.
If the DME has set your reminders, they are not really yours.
You may delete or change them if you like.

depending on where you live it may make sense to change your cpap and central air/heat filters at the same time. when you think of one, change both.

When your DME setup your machine they had no idea you were not going to use them as a supplier. Glad you're using an alternate supplier. I haven't bought a thing from my DME wither.
